The Proposal Manager is responsible for the development and quality assurance of proposals throughout the development process. The Proposal Manager works closely with technical SMEs, sales, contracts, and other departments to drive the development of compliant and compelling RFx responses. This individual provides critical analysis of RFx requirements; understands services to assemble response teams; and leads the proposal creation, content development, review, and quality assurance processes. The Proposal Manager ensures all proposal deliverables are high quality, align with GuidePoint's strategic objectives, and comply with RFx requirements and deadlines.

Roles and Responsibilities:  

  • Provide support for commercial and SLED RFXs
  • Independently manage the entire process of responding to complex RFXs, from receipt of support request through the submission of proposal deliverables
  • Serve as primary point of contact for proposal stakeholders, coordinating efforts across multiple departments and regions
  • Help maintain and contribute to proposal content libraries, templates, and process documentation
  • Provide expert guidance on proposal strategy, structure, and presentation
  • Conduct thorough compliance reviews to ensure all proposal requirements are met
  • Run reports and perform research to write new, non-technical content (e.g. cover letters, executive summaries, past performances, etc.); customize existing content (e.g. to fit client’s industry)
  • Write new content and edit, customize, and refine existing verbiage to enhance clarity, persuasiveness, and alignment with win themes

Required Experience: 

  • Bachelor's degree in English, technical writing/editing, or a related technical discipline or related experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in proposal development
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing complex RFXs independently. Experience managing and developing multi-volume, multi-practice/services, multi-solution, and/or multi-vendor RFx responses
  • Proven ability to develop winning proposal strategies. Must have strong editing skills and experience writing new content
  • Strong technical aptitude and experience within the cybersecurity and/or IT industry
  • Ability to absorb a large amount of information, in a continuously changing industry
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple RFx requests and deadlines simultaneously
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work with tight/shortened RFx deadlines
  • Self-motivated, disciplined, and comfortable working independently in a remote environment, with limited guidance
  • Highly organized with extreme attention to details
  • Preferred familiarity with Salesforce, Certinia, and/or Responsive (or other content management systems) and technical aptitude to learn new software/systems quickly

Travel Requirements:

  • Up to 10% Travel Required

Physical Requirements:

  • Sedentary work
  • Substantial movement of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers for a minimum of 8 hours a day
  • Required to have close visual acuity to view computer terminal and/or extensive reading for a minimum of 8 hours a day
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
