Lion Studios is a mobile games publisher that works with mobile developers to get their games discovered by players around the world. Headquartered in San Francisco, Lion Studios’ creative and strategy teams utilize their expertise to help game developers break through the noise and grow their businesses. 

Since launching in 2018, Lion Studios has driven 90% of its games to the Top 10 in the App Store and Google Play and helped drive 16 games to #1 in the US App Store’s Top Free chart. 
Role Overview

We're looking for an experienced QA Lead to own the quality, stability, and release readiness of our live mobile games. You'll work closely with Engineering, Product, Analytics, Marketing, and other stakeholders to ensure a high-quality player experience across iOS and Android.

This is a hands-on leadership role combining technical investigation, live game support, release management, and team mentorship. You will oversee quality throughout the game lifecycle while driving improvements in QA processes, automation, and AI-assisted workflows.

Responsibilities
  • Lead QA activities across feature development, releases, and live operations
  • Monitor game health, stability, crashes, and ANRs, triaging and escalating issues as needed
  • Investigate issues, analyze logs and telemetry, identify root causes, and create actionable bug reports
  • Validate analytics, attribution, telemetry, and live-ops event implementations
  • Own build submissions and release processes through App Store Connect and Google Play Console
  • Define test strategies, acceptance criteria, and regression coverage
  • Support testing of SDK updates, integrations, and other technical changes
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders and external QA partners to identify risks, resolve issues, and ensure release readiness
  • Mentor QA team members and promote QA best practices
  • Drive continuous improvement through automation and AI-assisted workflows
Requirements
  • 3+ years of QA experience in mobile games or mobile applications
  • Hands-on experience with Firebase Crashlytics and Android Vitals
  • Strong crash investigation, log analysis, debugging, and root-cause analysis skills
  • Experience validating analytics, attribution, telemetry, and event tracking in live environments
  • Working knowledge of App Store Connect and Google Play Console submission workflows
  • Strong understanding of mobile QA fundamentals, including device coverage, OS fragmentation, network conditions, and release testing
  • Experience supporting live iOS and Android products
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to learn new tools and adapt to evolving technologies and processes
Nice to Have
  • Experience with live-ops games and A/B testing
  • Experience with SDK integration testing and validation
  • Experience with automation tools, Maestro, or CI/CD pipelines
  • Familiarity with AI tools such as Claude, Base44, or Replit
  • Background in free-to-play mobile gaming
