The Refiber Tech evaluates, diagnoses, and repairs rigid endoscopes, ensuring compliance with OEM specifications, and maintaining quality standards while communicating repair timelines.
Description
SIS is seeking a versatile rigid refiber endoscope repair technician who can join our growing team. The ideal candidate will come to us with a strong background in the repair of multiple manufacturers and models and the capability for full rebuilds.
Requirements
- Evaluate and diagnose issues and determine required repairs for incoming rigid endoscopes
- Effectively use repair-related hand tools; such as dremels, hammers, screwdrivers, pliers, punches, drills, dies, taps, belt sanders, grinding wheels, bead blasters, burnishers, polishers, soldering equipment, laser welders, and acetylene torches.
- Repair, refurbish, recondition, replace missing or worn parts of endoscopes and other equipment to OEM specifications
- Produce, maintain and update detailed repair procedures for various models of endoscopes and other equipment
- High-level of knowledge on proper repair methods, as instructed
- Measure, cut, and fit tubing and fiber assemblies, accurately cut scope tubes, precisely grind tube angles, disassemble and reassemble scopes, refurbish scope parts, brush and pull fiber optics, precisely apply glues, understand and properly use fixturing, precisely grind and polish fiber cones, completely seal the back of scopes, accurately solder outer scope tubes, execute precision laser welding of the outer scope tubes, precisely align inside tube, precisely grind and polish scope tips, properly recover and save the inside tubes without damage.
- Accurately complete all evaluation, estimate and quality control paperwork in a timely manner
- Regularly communicate anticipated repair completion dates
- Effectively perform multiple endoscope repair tasks with no errors
- Consistently and effectively meet or exceed repair deadlines
- Conduct and support process audits to maintain and improve quality standards
- Adhere to all safety policies and procedures
- Maintain clean and organized work area
- Actively participate in continued education and training
Key Competencies
- Prefer three years of experience as a rigid endoscope repair technician production/manufacturing environment
- Proficient knowledge rigid endoscope repair techniques
- In depth knowledge of quality concepts and quality improvement techniques is desired
- Demonstrated ability to understand and manage data entry into SIS order entry system is critical
- Effective verbal communication skills are essential
- Strong leadership, problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Motivated and positive attitude
- Time management and organization skills are a must
- Must be able to work overtime as needed
- High school diploma or equivalent required
