The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

The person hired for the position of Central Regional Business Manager for 3M Scott Fire and Safety will be charged with working closely with the National Fire Manager and their team of field Fire Specialists and Field Service Technicians to drive efficient growth in the fire service market.

  • Create a plan that will enable enhanced relationships with customers located in the Central region of the US (includes collaboration with other regions and divisions).
  • Work with the National Fire Sales Manager, Fire Channel Manager, and other Regional Business Managers to drive consistency in our approach with key accounts across the United States.
  • Drive service programs that will ensure total customer satisfaction with after-sales support and in the promotion of future sales opportunities for 3M Scott Fire and Safety.
  • Set and achieve sales goals for the Central team. Maximize field sales and service productivity through targeted performance benchmarks. Optimize field sales and service performance.
  • Leverage division and company tools to improve sales productivity (i.e., Salesforce.com, Sales Aid, Sales Navigator, category management).
  • Assist in the onboarding and training process within the company.
As the Central Regional Business Manager, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
  • Leads in leveraging the division and company tools to improve sales productivity (i.e., Salesforce.com, Sales Aid, Sales Navigator, category management) and Assist in the onboarding and training process within the company.
  • Implements competency for direct reports – Products, Markets, Selling Skills – which will enable rich development plans for sales specialists.
  • Identify opportunities for deeper collaboration with PSD cross-functional team members (i.e., Core Products, Fall Protection, Scotchlite and Technical Service,).
  • Supports a clear understanding of the competitive landscape – articulate trends and future direction.
  • Willingness to take on Special Projects when and where applicable.

Company Vehicle

This position may include a company vehicle, if needed, will require pre-employment and ongoing review of motor vehicle history for candidates who are offered and hired for this position.

Your Skills and Expertise 

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start)
  • Ten (10) combined years of Industrial Fire and/or Municipal Fire Service sales management experience in a private, public, government, or military environment.
  • Current, valid Driver’s License if a company car is offered for this position.

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Master's degree in business or related field from an accredited institution
  • Ten (10) or more years of Industrial Fire/Municipal Fire Service Sales Management experience in a private, public, government or military environment
  • Experience in the Fire Service market with strong leadership skills.
  • Supervisory experience in sales with effective listening. Influencing and negotiating skills.
  • Manage key customers and channel partners using business analytics and category management experience.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to work well in cross-functional and multi-cultural teams operating with a sense of urgency and bias towards action.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and strategic thinker.

Work location:

Remote Based – Central US: FL, GA, MI, IN, IL, MN

Sales Territory: MN, ND, SD, WI, IA, MO, NE, KS, IL, AR, LA, MS, TN, AL GA, SC and FL
Travel: Will include over 60% domestic

Relocation: May be authorized

Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status)

Applicable to US Applicants Only:The expected compensation range for this position is $188,251 - $230,084, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience. In addition, this position may be eligible for a range of benefits (e.g., Medical, Dental & Vision, Health Savings Accounts, Health Care & Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts, Disability Benefits, Life Insurance, Voluntary Benefits, Paid Absences and Retirement Benefits, etc.).
