General Summary:

 

The Channel Product Manager is responsible for defining, executing, and optimizing Avient’s distribution channel strategy to drive profitable growth, expand market reach, and improve customer engagement across assigned product portfolios and markets. This role serves as the primary business owner of channel partner performance, ensuring alignment between Avient’s strategic objectives and channel partner execution.  This individual is a thought leader who performs independently and has demonstrated the ability to effectively interact and influence peers and cross-functional leaders in complex organizations (Avient and Customer).

 

 

 

 

 

Responsibilities

Essential Duties & Responsibilities 


  • Develop and execute comprehensive channel strategies aligned with Avient business objectives, growth priorities, and market opportunities.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between Avient and channel organizations, building strong collaborative relationships that drive growth and operational excellence.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Channel Sales Specialists.
  • Partner with Marketing, and Product Management to ensure consistent value proposition deployment throughout the channel.

  • Own channel performance and accountability for achieving related volume, revenue, profitability, and growth objectives.
  • Develop and implement channel growth programs including sales training, enablement, and marketing and sales incentive plans
  • Develop and maintain regular performance reporting packages that measure channel health, strategic progress, and contractual metrics
  • Lead regular business reviews with channel leadership and Avient stakeholders.
  • Identify and communicate business-at-risk situations, customer retention concerns, market shifts, competitive threats, and supply challenges.
  • Collaborate with internal teams including product management, operations, customer service and supply chain to align on channel initiatives.

Typically reports to Director Sales or equivalent.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree required.

At least 7 years in product management, sales, channel management, marketing, or related commercial leadership role.

Experience in managing distributor, channel partner, or indirect sales relationships.
Strong financial acumen with experience in forecasting, business planning, and performance analysis.
Experience leading cross-functional teams and influencing stakeholders without direct authority
Strong presentation, communication, and relationship management skills
Ability to analyze complex business situations, and develop actionable solutions.
Demonstrated expertise in problem-solving, conflict resolution and negotiation.
Strong data analytical and organizaitional skills.
Technical proficiency with SAP and CRM systems as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
