What You'll Do

As the Regional Sales Director, you will lead the Midwest sales organization by driving revenue growth, developing future leaders, strengthening customer and supplier partnerships, and executing strategic business initiatives.

You will serve as a key member of the regional leadership team, partnering closely with Sales, Marketing, Category Management, Operations, Finance, and Executive Leadership to accelerate growth while maintaining exceptional customer experiences.

Success in this role requires balancing strategic vision with day-to-day leadership, helping both the business and your people achieve their full potential.



What Success Looks Like

During your first 12–18 months, you will:

  • Build trusted relationships with key customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Develop and coach a highly engaged, high-performing sales team.
  • Drive sustainable revenue and margin growth across the region.
  • Strengthen customer engagement through strategic account planning and portfolio management.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and development.
  • Partner across functions to improve customer experiences and business performance.



Key Responsibilities

Sales Leadership & Growth Strategy

  • Develop and execute regional sales strategies that drive sustainable and profitable growth.
  • Utilize portfolio management and customer segmentation strategies to maximize customer value and profitability.
  • Leverage activity-based costing tools and pricing resources to support informed business decisions.
  • Partner with executive sales leadership to evaluate account assignments, territory alignment, and team structure.
  • Build and strengthen relationships with key customers, suppliers, and strategic partners.
  • Identify emerging market opportunities and develop plans to address changing customer needs and competitive dynamics.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Category Management on market expansion initiatives, new product introductions, and growth opportunities.
  • Establish clear goals and performance expectations that support both business results and employee success.
  • Lead quarterly business reviews and performance discussions with team members.



Talent Development & Team Leadership

  • Coach, mentor, and develop sales professionals to maximize individual and team performance.
  • Create an environment where employees feel supported, challenged, and empowered to grow their careers.
  • Lead regional talent planning, succession planning, performance management, and organizational development efforts.
  • Foster a culture aligned with OmniCable's Core Values and commitment to shared success.
  • Support change management initiatives and help teams successfully navigate growth and business transformation.
  • Recognize and develop future leaders within the organization.
  • Promote collaboration, engagement, and inclusion across the regional team.



Customer Experience & Operational Excellence

  • Ensure customer issues and concerns are addressed effectively and professionally.
  • Partner with Distribution, Procurement, Operations, and Category Management teams to deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Support inventory optimization and strategic inventory planning initiatives.
  • Collaborate across departments to improve service levels and operational effectiveness.
  • Oversee regional marketing investments, rebate programs, buying groups, and promotional initiatives.



Financial & Business Management

  • Develop and manage the regional financial plan and controllable expenses.
  • Monitor regional performance against revenue, margin, and profitability goals.
  • Partner with Sales and Finance leadership to analyze business results and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Review and approve business expenditures in alignment with company guidelines and financial objectives.
  • Conduct regular business reviews with executive leadership to assess progress and drive informed decision-making.



Work Experience

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Significant sales leadership experience with a demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and inspire teams.
  • Proven success building customer relationships and driving profitable business growth.
  • Strong business acumen and strategic planning capabilities.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to manage priorities and effectively lead in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Ability to travel domestically approximately 10-15%.

Preferred

  • Experience in electrical distribution, wire and cable, industrial distribution, telecommunications, or related industries.
  • Experience utilizing Salesforce.com or similar CRM platforms.
  • Experience leading multi-location or regional sales teams.

Work Environment

  • This position is based within the Midwest regional OmniCable operation and is connected to the region's distribution center.
  • OmniCable currently offers a hybrid work environment, with team members expected to work in the office three days per week. Hybrid schedules are subject to business needs and may be adjusted accordingly.
