Regulatory Counsel Brazil
Overview
Mastercard Brazil is seeking a Counsel, Regulatory to support product launches, rule changes, participant matters, and regulatory authorizations in light of the increased complexity introduced Central Bank of Brazil under a new regulatory framework. This role will provide end-to-end regulatory support across business and operational initiatives, while helping manage Mastercard's engagement with the Central Bank.
Key Responsibilities
• Support regulatory assessments and authorization processes for new products, business models, rule changes, and operational initiatives• Execute formal approval processes, including legal analysis, impact assessment coordination, documentation, and timeline management• Review products and business models to ensure compliance is addressed from inception• Provide end-to-end regulatory support across product and operational initiatives• Coordinate cross-functional stakeholders to ensure complete, consistent, and timely execution• Support engagement with the Central Bank, including meetings, communications, responses, and follow-ups• Monitor regulatory developments and translate them into practical business guidance
All About You
• Qualified lawyer with experience in financial regulation, payments, banking, fintech, or another regulated sector• Experience with product reviews, regulatory approvals, rule changes, or cross-functional implementation projects• Strong knowledge of the Brazilian regulatory environment and Central Bank interaction• Sound legal judgment combined with pragmatic business orientation• Strong writing, coordination, and stakeholder management skills• Fluent in Portuguese and English
