Our Mission Systems Sector is seeking a Reliability Engineer/Principal Reliability Engineer in Rolling Meadows, Illinois, for support projects associated with the design and development of avionic mission systems.  The job responsibilities will be as an individual-contributor and deliverable/product lead within a multi-disciplinary engineering team. A successful candidate will be responsible for establishing, monitoring, and verifying subsystem reliability & maintainability (R&M) performance requirements and ensuring that R&M program requirements are achieved.

This position will be full-time, on-site at our Rolling Meadows, IL location.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform Failure Reporting, Analysis, and Corrective Action System (FRACAS) processes including: documenting failure modes, trending and reporting of data.
  • Perform Root Cause and Corrective Action investigations in coordination with hardware and systems engineering.
  • Perform reliability predictions in accordance with industry standards.
  • Perform reliability and maintainability analysis such as Failure, Modes, Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) and Mean Time To Repair (MTTR).

This position can be filled as a Reliability Engineer or Principal Reliability Engineer

Basic Qualifications for Reliability Engineer:

  • Bachelor of Science in a STEM discipline from an accredited college/university with 2 years of experience OR Master of Science with 0 years of experience.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Must have experience in a Systems Engineering discipline.
  • Candidate must be a US Citizen
  • Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a Government Secret Clearance. Clearance is not required to start.

Basic Qualifications for Principal Reliability Engineer:

  • Bachelor of Science in a STEM discipline from an accredited college/university with 5 years of experience; OR Master of Science with 3 years of experience; OR PhD in Science with 1 year of experience.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Must have experience in a Systems Engineering discipline.
  • Candidate must be a US Citizen
  • Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a Government Secret Clearance. Clearance is not required to start.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in Electrical, Computer, or related engineering discipline.
  • Understanding of electrical components, modes of operation, and failure modes.
  • Demonstrated experience with problem resolution on complex technical challenges.
  • Experience in a Reliability and Maintainability Engineering discipline.
  • Experience in Aerospace and Defense industry.

Primary Level Salary Range: $79,600.00 - $119,400.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $98,900.00 - $148,300.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
