Job Summary

Audits bulk, training, ensuring compliance, investigations, reporting, work with maintenance to ensure follow up items are corrected, analysis.


Essential Job Duties

 

Participate in the development and implementation of safety policies and procedures under the guidance of senior safety personnel.

Perform Safety Inspections of work areas, equipment, and processes to identify hazard and compliance assessment techniques.

Identify workplace hazards and assess risks associated with various tasks. Report?

Participate in Safety Training Programs: ongoing – development Attend safety training sessions about potential hazards, safe work practices, and emergency procedures.

Support the planning, implementation, and assessment of occupational health and safety programs and processes.

Investigate accidents, near misses, and other safety incidents to determine root causes and establish to corrective action plans.

Follow relevant safety regulations, codes, and standards ensuring organizational compliance.

Analyze safety data to identify trends and contribute to recommendations for improving safety programs.

Enforce procedures and troubleshoot issues to safeguard the assets of the organization.

Participate in investigating workers' compensation claims, issues, filing, and procedures with appropriate management, HR, and workers' compensation carrier.

Investigate safety and health incidents and complaints.

Use of Microsoft teams…..Google meetings.


Safety Culture application in the course of auditing, recording and receiving safety concerns.

 

Collaborate with maintenance, safety personnel and management….

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education, Experience and Credentials

High school diploma or GED.

Minimum one year of Safety related job experience. 

Requires ongoing Safety and compliance education in HazWoper, OSHA, IL Worker’s Compensation Commission, , IL EPA, NFPA, CDC, CPSC, and local, state and federal regulations.



Knowledge, Skills and Abilities


Requires proficiency with the Google business platform and/or Microsoft Office products including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Canva.

Requires forklift certification and stacker training within first six months.

Requires CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain certification within six months of employment.

Requires a valid driver’s license, safe driving record, proof of insurance and reliable transportation

Maintains confidentiality of information related to LLGI operations, financial matters and personnel matters.

Works independently while fostering a strong team atmosphere.

Conveys information clearly through verbal and written communication.

Demonstrates sensitivity and the ability to communicate with a diverse population, promotes diversity and inclusion throughout the organization.

Interacts with people in a manner that enhances their dignity, privacy and confidentiality.

Requires a high level of professionalism, integrity, business conduct and ethical behavior.

Fast-paced environment with short deadlines and regular instances of critical or unusual situations.

Scope of work includes office, light industrial and warehouse settings with exposure to heat, cold, dirt, dust, pet hair, mold and other allergens.

Subject to work in an office, light warehouse, store showroom and surrounding grounds setting

Requires frequent travel to LLGI locations and potential travel nationwide for additional training
