AwardSpring is a growing Software as a Service (SaaS) company that partners with colleges and foundations to streamline scholarship management, helping students apply for and receive scholarship funds easily while supporting institutions in managing donor relationships and raising funds for future scholarships.  We’ve just raised a fresh round of investor funding, and are investing in expanding our sales team to accelerate our growth.

Job Overview

The Sales Account Executive will focus on cultivating new clients in the college, university, and foundation sectors to expand AwardSpring’s market share. The role requires managing the sales process from initial contact to closing deals, leveraging SaaS sales experience to achieve growth targets.

This role is based in Chicago, and offers a hybrid work-style.  Candidates should expect to be in our West Loop office three days per week.

Key Responsibilities
  • Building pipeline through outbound sales efforts into your territory, engaging prospects to generate new business opportunities
  • Manage the sales process for your assigned accounts, including:
    • Conducting discovery calls to understand prospective clients' scholarship processes.
    • Delivering demonstrations of the AwardSpring platform.
    • Engaging with multiple stakeholders across departments in higher education institutions.
    • Articulating client challenges and presenting AwardSpring’s solutions effectively.
    • Driving deals to close using a structured and confident sales approach.
  • Collaborate with the Sales Development Representative (SDR) team to qualify leads and opportunities.
  • Travel to industry conferences and visit prospective customers to win deals.  Expected travel for this position is 3-5 business days per month

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of sales experience, with SaaS experience a plus
  • Results-driven with excellent organizational and time-management abilities
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients and stakeholders
  • Willingness to participate in a fast paced, high growth environment
  • Must be coachable
  • Bachelor’s degree required

Compensation

  • Base Salary: $65,000-75,000
  • Variable Compensation Target: $55,000
  • On Target Earnings: $120,000-$130,000
  • Commissions/Bonus opportunities are uncapped, with accelerators in place for high performers
