About the Role

As a member of our Chicago boutique team, you will bring to life the distinctive Polène universe, attracting a high-end, local, and international clientele. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about luxury leather goods and committed to delivering exceptional service every day.

Our Chicago boutique requires experienced professionals capable of exceeding the expectations of discerning customers while contributing to the success of one of the most prestigious luxury shopping destinations in the Midwest.

Key ResponsibilitiesCreating the Polène Experience
  • Proactively engage with customers to positively impact conversion rates, ensuring each visitor feels welcomed, valued, and eager to return.

  • Guide and assist clients throughout their entire purchasing journey, delivering exemplary service from greeting to farewell.

  • Offer personalized and attentive experiences by identifying customer needs and embodying Polène's service standards.

  • Encourage additional sales by mastering and communicating our services during and after each purchase.

  • Drive brand loyalty through strategic clienteling, maintaining a detailed digital client book to provide personalized outreach and styling advice that extends the relationship beyond the boutique visit.

  • Develop long-term relationships with clients while contributing to individual and boutique sales goals.

Cash Management & Operational Support
  • Manage opening and closing procedures for registers and accurately process transactions.

  • Support CRM initiatives through client follow-up and contribute to daily boutique reporting.

  • Maintain the boutique's presentation, including merchandising, sales floor organization, and collaboration with the stock team to support inventory and storage.

  • Ensure operational procedures and service standards are consistently executed.

  • Support inventory-related activities and product replenishment as needed.

Boutique Opening & Closing
  • Prepare the boutique before opening: activate lighting, equipment, and music; verify merchandising; and restock bags and materials.

  • Complete end-of-day closing procedures: process telecollections, secure registers, send reports, deactivate lighting and equipment, adjust displays, organize materials, and turn off music.

  • Ensure the boutique is consistently maintained to reflect Polène's luxury standards.

What We're Looking For
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working with high-end, local, and international clientele in a luxury or premium retail environment.

  • Deep appreciation for craftsmanship and leather goods, with a passion for sharing this expertise with clients.

  • Strong team player with a collaborative and positive spirit.

  • Personable, with excellent interpersonal skills and the initiative to cultivate meaningful client relationships.

  • Exceptional service orientation with rigor, proactivity, and meticulous attention to detail.

  • Autonomous, adaptable, and resilient—capable of thriving in a high-traffic boutique environment.

  • Strong clienteling and relationship-building skills.

  • Fluency in English required; additional language proficiency is a plus.

  • Availability to work a flexible retail schedule, including weekends, holidays, and peak business periods.

  • Competitive hourly wage of $21 - $24 per hour, plus bonus incentive.
