Job Responsibilities:

Role Summary

Responsible for all commercial sales account activities for Japan customer accounts. Conducts regular communication with purchasing, engineering, and other key customer personnel to strengthen relationships. Oversees the management of customer commercial activities. Works to increase market share, optimize profitability, and promotes a positive perception of Magna Electronics as preferred supplier of ADAS technology. Generally, performs the following duties leading local Japan Customer Cross Functional Team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create strategies to promote Magna Electronics business and align with customer on opportunities.
  • Strengthen Magna’s relationship with JOEM customer.
  • Maintain and grow current sales for Magna Electronics Japan.
  • Manage customer accounts including sales, price management, negotiations, and payments, customer intelligence for market share, competition, market trends, customer needs and satisfaction.
  • Track customer volumes, pricing, and production schedules with management to company forecasting system.
  • Lead customer commercial growth sales strategy and prepare and present regular updates to Upper Management.
  • Mentor and manage customer team and support all activities related to customer interface and business management.
  • Other responsibilities as needed.

Requirements

  • More than five (5) years of experience in the automotive industry working with JOEMs or suppliers.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to successfully create strategies and coordinate/complete multiple tasks.
  • Strong communication skills: verbal, written, presentations and negotiations.
  • Business Japanese and Business English
  • Proficient with word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, and database applications.
  • Demonstrated successful performance with independent problem solving and presentation skills.
  • Travel locally to customers and global locations as needed.

Education

• BA BS degree or equivalent work experience.

Experience

  • Experience in working in global setting requiring communication to facilities and team members located outside Japan.
  • Experience in mentoring and managing other team members.
  • Preferred experience in electronics or ability to quickly learn.
