About ECP

ECP is a market-leading SaaS solution that enables senior living communities to better care for their residents. ECP is used in over 8,000 communities. We're looking to further expand by increasing the number of customers that use our software and increasing the scope of how we serve our customers by developing and releasing new products.

Senior living is deeply under-penetrated with software and ECP is one of the largest and fastest-growing software companies in the industry. We recently raised a growth round of equity to reinvest in our product, technology, and go-to-market. Our mission is to build world-class software that improves the quality of life for seniors and improves clinical, business, compliance, and operational performance for our customers.

Role Overview

The Sales Engineer will serve as a strategic technical advisor throughout the sales process, partnering closely with Account Executives and the Director of Solutions Engineering to help senior living operators evaluate ECP's platform. This role extends well beyond product demonstrations—it requires the ability to understand complex operational challenges, develop solution strategies, and communicate how ECP improves clinical, operational, financial, and business outcomes.

The ideal candidate will already possess a strong understanding of the senior living industry and be comfortable engaging executive stakeholders, including clinical leaders, operations, finance, IT, and ownership groups. They should be an exceptional storyteller who can tailor demonstrations around each prospect's goals, connecting ECP's capabilities to measurable business value rather than simply showcasing features.

This individual will play a foundational role in scaling the Solutions Engineering organization and elevating the sophistication of our technical sales process.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Partner with Account Executives throughout the sales cycle to develop winning solution strategies.
  • Lead highly customized product demonstrations that tell a compelling business and operational story.
  • Consult with operators to understand complex workflows and recommend scalable solutions.
  • Translate customer challenges into product capabilities and measurable business outcomes.
  • Complete RFPs, RFIs, security questionnaires, and technical documentation.
  • Serve as a liaison between Sales and Product by communicating market feedback, feature requests, and competitive intelligence.
  • Keep the sales organization informed on new product functionality through enablement sessions, demo updates, and internal training.
  • Develop and maintain demo environments, presentation materials, and solution playbooks.
  • Support discovery sessions, technical deep dives, executive presentations, and proof-of-concept discussions.
  • Collaborate with Product, Marketing, Customer Success, and Implementation to ensure consistent messaging and smooth customer transitions.

Partnership with the Director of Solutions Engineering

This role will work in close partnership with the Director of Solutions Engineering to help scale ECP's technical sales organization. Together, they will refine solution strategy, improve selling motions, and build repeatable processes that elevate the customer buying experience.

  • Partner on strategic pursuits and executive presentations.
  • Develop scalable demo strategies, storytelling, and best practices.
  • Assist with complex RFPs, RFIs, security reviews, and technical documentation.
  • Provide structured field feedback to Product Management to influence roadmap priorities.
  • Build and maintain demo environments and sales enablement resources.
  • Coach and enable Account Executives on new functionality, competitive positioning, and solution selling.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and help build the future of the Solutions Engineering organization.

What Success Looks Like

  • Increased sales win rates through strategic discovery and solution consulting.
  • Compelling, outcome-focused demonstrations that differentiate ECP from competitors.
  • A strong partnership with Account Executives that improves sales effectiveness.
  • Faster, higher-quality RFP/RFI completion.
  • Better alignment between customer needs and Product roadmap priorities.
  • A well-enabled sales organization that stays current on new capabilities and confidently communicates ECP's value.
  • Helping establish the foundation for a scalable, world-class Solutions Engineering organization.

Requirements
  • Experience in senior living, post-acute healthcare, or healthcare technology.
  • Strong understanding of assisted living operations, clinical workflows, medication management, billing, or resident care.
  • Exceptional presentation, communication, and executive facilitation skills.
  • Ability to translate complex functionality into meaningful business value.
  • Experience leading executive-level discussions with large, multi-site organizations.
  • Highly collaborative and comfortable working across multiple departments.
  • Strong written communication skills with experience completing RFPs, RFIs, and technical questionnaires.
  • Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Passion for continuous learning and becoming a trusted advisor to both prospects and internal teams.
  • Travel Expectations (estimated up to 25% on average)
    • Willingness to travel for customer meetings, conferences, and strategic onsite engagements.
    • Attend executive and C-suite demonstrations for enterprise opportunities where in-person collaboration creates additional value.
