Account Executive (University, Colleges, Nonprofits)

Do you have experience selling to, or working in, advancement and fundraising organizations at higher education or nonprofit institutions, but long to experience the business side of philanthropy?  Aluminate offers cutting-edge data enrichment and analytics solutions to help these organizations identify and understand their donors and prospects and take their fundraising efforts to a new level. We are a young company but have proven our model by establishing relationships with prominent private and public colleges and universities.  We now need to scale the business in the higher-ed market, as well as expand our presence with general nonprofits.

Selling into higher education and nonprofits requires an understanding of the internal workings of advancement operations. Knowing how to use data to maintain the integrity of CRM databases of donors and prospects, acquire insightful and actionable information to identify top prospects, cultivate current and prospective donors, and build campaigns and fundraising programs are essential to be able to “talk the talk.” Selling to higher-ed and nonprofit institutions isn’t for everyone, as it requires determination and persistence. However, you will be energized by the belief that you are part of a greater cause to help these organizations create opportunities for many needy students and clients. This opportunity is a great fit for you if you:

  • Have at least 5 years selling to, or working in, a college, university, or nonprofit advancement organization, and have meaningful experience with the use of prospect and donor personal data
  • Have a charismatic persona
  • Have excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Have courage and a willingness to compete against established industry players
  • Understand what client terms like, “no,” “not at this time,” “we don’t have the budget,” really mean

Responsibilities

  • Researching and prospecting for new leads, working with our Director of Marketing
  • Cold calling and proactive follow up with new client prospects
  • Arranging demos for our analytics and support teams
  • Negotiating terms with new clients
  • Using Copper CRM to track and manage prospective clients
  • Working closely with the rest of the Aluminate team to grow the business
