Department OverviewManage and lead a group of Account Executives in Central Texas and Oklahoma for T6 for Motorola Solutions; the industry leading provider of mission critical communications solutions to State and Local government. This Team is responsible for sales generation, strategic account planning and overall relationship management for the targeted Customer base in T6.
Job Description
The Area Sales Manager will be responible but not limited to the following:
- Proactively develop large project opportunities encompassing a wide range of products and services (core and emerging technologies) with particular focus on next generation technology and platforms
- Develop strong, trusted advisor relationships with key decision makers and influencers within and outside of public safety; Mayor, CIO, and other elected officials in order to understand and influence funding. Interact with Senior customer level and consultants/lobbyists; work independently under limited direction
- Hire, develop, and coach a team of enterprise level sales professional. Interface with all team members in a way that drives business results and motivates the proper activity
- Effectively lead internal teams on critical projects and issue resolution with clear direction and purpose
- Maintain target Customer intelligence data in Motorola CRM system Provide timely & accurate sales forecast
- Drive strategies with government customers for Motorola success in the bid environment
Specific Knowledge/Skills:
- Previous Sales management experienced is preferred
- Bachelors degree is required
- 4+ years of documented track record of sales performance within a technology environment is required
- Effective and proven negotiation skills.
- Ability to develop and maintain relationships with a C-Level executives
- Strong relationship management skills
- Highly effective communication skills (oral, written & presentation)
- Ability to drive strategies with government customers for Motorola success in the bid environment
- Understanding of public safety domain, Motorola portfolio, competitive landscape; customer procurement processes and has dealt effectively with political decision making landscapes
Basic Requirements
Bachelors Degree with 4+ years of sales/public safety experience or 8+ years of sales/public safety experience
