WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
The Area Vice President, SMB Sales is a second-line leadership role with responsibility for region new business ACV quota across several of Braze’s SMB Sales and Account Management teams in North America.
The ideal candidate will have at least ten years of experience selling SaaS products to midmarket and SMB-level clients, at least five years of experience as a front-line sales leader, and ideally two or more years of experience as a second-line leader. In addition, the ideal candidate will have experience leading in fast-growing SaaS companies, and is accustomed to driving team performance while balancing the needs of a publicly-traded company. The ideal candidate will also have experience in hiring, developing and retaining world-class SaaS sales leaders and teams as a result of a high performing career in quota-carrying and leadership roles.
The Area Vice President, SMB Americas Sales will be responsible for driving a large number of transactions, and working with both new prospects and existing customers, while developing a culture that enables consistent growth and success. The ideal candidate will have experience in marketing automation, CRM, email or related marketing technologies, be a thought leader for innovation and disruptive technologies, have a “customer-first” mentality, and represent Braze across our growing ecosystem of employees, customers, partners, and other stakeholders.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Lead a team of 30+ Regional Sales and Account Management directors and their direct reports in North America.
- Hire, nurture and performance manage a team of world-class sales leadership talent
- Set and execute an aggressive customer acquisition and retention strategy for the team
- Align go-to-market teams (Marketing, SolCon, Executive) to execute the FY plan and represent a clear, single vision to customers and the marketplace
- Manage overall sales process and provide detailed and accurate sales forecasting
- Plan and manage at both the strategic and operational levels
- Be a proactive representative within the Sales and SMB Leadership Teams and guide our executives on setting go-to-market strategies.
WHO YOU ARE
This is a SaaS sales leadership role at a top-tier, publicly-traded company (NASDAQ:BRZE) that is a category leader in customer engagement. Strong candidates will have experience working with SMB clients, along with a proven ability and desire to coach and lead teams of high-performing sales directors and account executives who are experienced in outbound prospecting and closing SaaS software deals. Any experience selling a marketing automation, CRM, email, or marketing analytics solution is preferred (although not a requirement).
- Minimum of 10 years proven experience in SaaS sales, including working with SMB clients, and consistent overachievement of quota and revenue goals
- At least 5 years experience managing a regional team of sales executives, preferably in marketing technology
- Ideally at least 2 years experience as a second line leader
- Strong track record of recruiting, developing and retaining high-performing sales leaders and individual contributors
