Department OverviewRecently Motorola Solutions has expanded our Video portfolio. It is this portfolio that will house the latest and greatest technologies associated with AI-powered solutions for video security, access control and mission-critical communications.
Job Description
The Business Development Manager will be responsible but not limited to the following:
- Create, nurture and respond to sales opportunities within the Education marketplace.
- Establish quarterly and annual sales objectives in coordination with the Vice President of Vertical Markets, North America.
- Promote and sell Avigilon’s products and services through direct customer contact within the Education vertical within the assigned geographic territory.
- Work to identify and engage new potential vertically oriented partners and sales within the region.
- Create and execute an Education Sector business plan, updated and modified quarterly to reflect the market changes/innovations and/or technology acquisitions.
- Work with and educate Avigilon global sales team members on how to engage Education Marketplace effectively and with maximum results.
- Develop and maintain relationships within the consultant community specific to the Education Sector.
- Work with RSDs and RSMs on identifying key Education Sector partners/end-users; equipping team with resources to quickly and effectively engage contacts in a manner that will result in Avigilon differentiation in Education Marketplace, market leadership, and subject matter expertise that will help close deals.
- Work with the Vice President of Vertical Markets, North America to identify trade associations, partnering opportunity, new business plans & objectives, and other creative market approaches to maximize impact of Avigilon’s efforts within Education marketplace.
- Develop relationships within the Education Sector that are relevant to security and surveillance and have the possibility of generating opportunity for Avigilon.
- Work with Global Director of A&E to develop vertically specific specification and specification related tools for the Education Sector marketplace.
- Schedule regular engagements with Education centric consultant community to maintain relationships and educational opportunities relative to latest and greatest within Avigilon portfolio (Lunch and Learns, webinars, on-site meetings/demos).
- Attend tradeshows and professionally participate in booth duty within the Avigilon booth at various marketing events as determined necessary.
- Work on key deals to help define and oversee how our products are deployed.
- Conduct sales calls, schedule “local” promotional work and track sales activities with all channels, end user and contractors using Avigilon’s Salesforce.com lead and project tracking software database. Update regularly.
- Prepare proposals and quotes for prospective customers and provide them with published prices, and information regarding terms of sales and delivery dates. Discounts beyond the published price pages must be proposed and reviewed with the Vice President of Vertical Markets, North America.
- Work on key deals to help define and oversee how our products are deployed.
- Maintain a working knowledge of competitive offerings.
- Provide product and sales training to consultants, integrators, and end-users to help them understand our products including how and when they should be used according to their specific application.
Territory
- The Business Development Manager, Education, North America shall have the responsibility to cover the following Education sub-verticals:
- K-12
- Higher Education
- Private Education
- Pre-Schools
- Trade Learning Institutions
- Child Care (education specific)
- Supporting Business Enterprises (education specific)
Other
- Frequent travel will be required during the execution of the duties of the Business Development Manager, Education, North America.
- Avigilon may allocate such additional or other duties
Basic Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in one of the following, Sales, Engineering, Video or Surveillance
