Business Development Representative

The Business Development Rep is an outbound prospecting position that works closely with the Account Executives to uncover qualified business opportunities, leveraging the company’s expertise, industry profile, and knowledge of the industry to contact potential buyers, resellers, and influencers.  BDR’s are part of a fast-paced Sales team with skills in strategically developing and qualifying revenue opportunities.  BDR’s are expected to continually reach out to the legal industry, as well to surface qualified opportunities, inquire current customers needs, and evangelize the company’s products and services.  

Candidates for this position must be highly motivated, tenacious, and self-starters.  A position is based in Chicago.


  • Participate in strategy sessions with leadership to identify prospect lists based on criteria

  • Coordinate list building activities and uploads into CRM and call scheduling tools

  • Proactively reach out to prospects via phone and email to understand their business needs and qualify potential opportunities

  • Collaborate with Marketing and build outbound marketing messages and cadences

  • Manage and maintain a pipeline of interested prospects

  • Capture relevant calls notes and provide warm handoffs to Account Executives

  • Meet and exceed monthly activity goals

  • Leverage CRM, calendars, and other project management tools


  • 1-3 years experience in a sales or customer-facing role; prospecting experience preferred

  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills

  • Strong problem-solving skills

  • Motivated and goal oriented with a self-starting attitude

  • Good time management and organizational skills

  • Collaborative and team-oriented

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment

Preferred/Other Skills

  • Interest in the legal industry

  • Experience using Salesforce

  • Demonstrated experience in leadership roles and/or bringing positive change to projects in which one is involved
