Job Description
The Business Development team builds relationships with and champions brand and manufacturer partners in the music instrument industry. We use those relationships to drive sales and revenue from brands selling directly on Reverb, and from premium marketing services that support brand goals and elevate seller inventory. We are a small but inclusive team of creative people with sales and marketing backgrounds.
In this role you will focus on coordination and project management of different campaigns, account management, and new business acquisition. The objective of this role is to support the team in the execution of the premium marketing campaigns, but to also manage a portfolio of accounts and acquire new accounts to meet targets. This role will provide high visibility in the MI industry as the candidate will be interacting with the most iconic brands of the sector. The successful candidate will join a highly effective team and will have multiple opportunities to grow as this department continues to expand.

Responsibilities
- Contribute to the authoring of pitches to brands to secure advertising agreements to meet quarterly targets
- Project manage advertising campaigns, delivering assets and project briefs, and collaborating with internal and external teams to ensure smooth execution
- Manage calendars and schedules, and communicate key information to relevant Reverb teams
- Maintaining regular communication cadence with your accounts, gathering information about brand activities (ie. new product release schedules, special promotions)
- Manage a book of brands who sell on Reverb with the goal of growing their Reverb sales through feature adoption and inventory allocation
- Host goal-based business reviews with your book of sellers.
- Identify, quantify and articulate internal seller-product opportunities to grow sales
- Identify and present your list of new business target
- Contact and engage with the new leads
- Report regularly and assess your performance
Qualifications
- Knowledge of music instrument brands, distributors, dealers and other key players in the industry.
- A passion for gear and the mission of making the world more musical (Knowledge of non-guitar categories a plus)
- At least 2 years product or retail sales experience.
- Excellent written, verbal, and digital skills, including knowledge of spreadsheet software.
- Creative thinking, and the ability to translate that creativity into action and collaboration
- Strong organizational skills with a keen eye on details; data and analytical skills a plus
- Knowledge of CRM or willing to learn how to work with a CRM
- At ease with ambitious targets, willing to take feedback and learn, and a proactive and self-starting outlook

This is a full-time position located (eventually) in Chicago, reporting to the Director of Business Development. While all of our employees are currently remote, our future of work plan will offer flexible workplace policies that can accommodate work from home candidates who are comfortable traveling to the office location 2-3 times per week.
