Position Summary 

The Director of Client Development plays a key role in the continued growth and success of the Tall Ridge business, with a focus on creating valuable partnerships with leading brands. This person will work closely with Senior Management and Client Service to identify, prospect and close new partnerships and to ensure the mutual success of all new business deals.

Critical to success in this role will be Ecommerce expertise, a detailed understanding of the new business value creation process, and a keen ability to understand the needs of prospective partner brands and their senior decision-makers. Intellectual curiosity, team spirit, and a desire to be an expert in a complex, dynamic space will be a vital trait in this position.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Desire to become an expert in the Tall Ridge business and the E-commerce industry with a specific focus on Amazon, Walmart, and other emerging marketplaces
  • Passion for prospecting target brands and mining past relationships to develop and maintain a robust pipeline
  • Ability to craft and tell meaningful client narratives that align business needs with Tall Ridge capabilities
  • Refined skills in building great relationships with prospective partners, especially listening and being focused on creating outcomes that closely align with expectations
  • Leadership skills to rally Tall Ridge resources to design and deliver compelling presentations
  • Relentless spirit to successfully meet and exceed Tall Ridge growth expectations
  • Detailed approach to capturing all elements of each potential opportunity using the Tall Ridge CRM during the new business process and to collaborate with Account Managers to onboard and launch new brands

 

Requirements of Role

  • 5+ years in an E-commerce, Performance Marketing, or Digital Agency new business
  • A deep understanding of consumer brands and the digital landscape 
  • Natural new business skills that translate to the development of strong relationships with prospective partners, developed via phone, video chat, or (someday) in-person meetings
  • An internal drive to be organized, on time, and ahead of expectations
  • Bachelor’s degree in sales, marketing, business administration, communications, or other relevant fields
  • Expert skills with the tools of the trade: CRMs, Excel/Sheets and PowerPoint/Slides
  • The ability to listen and ask questions that create dialog, drive improvement and build on Tall Ridge’s highly-collaborative environment
  • Some travel (10-20%) eventually, but not in the immediate future
  • Must want to win and by doing things the right way

Tall Ridge has 2 office locations: our main office is in Elk Grove Village, and our satellite office is at TechNexus, located in downtown Chicago
