Manager, Business Development
Description
The Manager, Business Development is responsible for managing the productivity and development of a team of Business Development Representatives. The Manager, Business Development ensures the growth and development of customer accounts through strategic decision making and upholding MoLo's commitment to service.
Main Responsibilities:
- Freight execution and strategy: ensure reps hold up our commitment to service each load and never give back a load
- Team communication and provide direction regarding awards, market shifts, and team strategy
- People development including rep shadowing, initiating specialized training, monthly 1:1 based on KPI scorecards, and the bi-annual reviews
- Customer growth and strategy: ensure freight execution, data integrity for customer profiles, and work with reps to develop new customers as well as grow existing customer relationships
- Team culture organization and management: facilitate positive cross-departmental collaboration and communication, manage staffing schedule, establish back up protocols, and communicate with Director, Talent staffing needs
- Systems and process fluency: load board management, data management, TMS navigation, Macropoint and geotracking, RMIS, and Power BI
Requirements
What we're looking for:
- Minimum 5 years of third-party logistics industry experience
- Proven individual performer with an ability to coach and lead
- Strong negotiation skills and extensive sales experience
- Strong organization and planning skills we well as effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to create and execute a sales plan
- Fluent with systems including but not limited to Excel, PowerPoint, CRM, TMS systems, and Power BI
