Manager, Sales Operations
Sprout Social’s Sales Operations team is looking for an analytical, problem solving, and solutions-focused Manager of Sales Operation who has experience leading a team of data and reporting analysts who support Sales and Customer Success organizations.
Our Sales and Customer Success teams works with more than 25,000 brands around the world including Evernote, Grubhub, Subaru and Edelman. These businesses rely on Sprout to create stronger relationships with their customers through social media.
This position will partner closely with Sales and Customer Success leadership to define and drive business needs and translate those needs into reporting solutions and analysis aimed at creating valuable and strategic insight for the sales floor. This person will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders as well including our Marketing Operations, Finance Operations, and CRM teams.

The Experience
- At least 5 years of overall work experience in Sales Operations, Business Operations, Revenue Management, Data Science, Business Intelligence, or Consulting. SaaS experience ideal
- At least 1 year of work experience leading a team
- Expert level with Excel and G Suite; Intermediate level with SQL
- Proficiency in Salesforce.com and Tableau
- Ability to work with, organize, audit, query, and manipulate large data sets across Salesforce.com, Excel and SQL/Tableau
- Comfortable with ambiguity, competing priorities, and is resilient in a high growth environment
- Positive attitude and growth mindset
- Ability to frame business questions in analytical terms and translating business requirements into useful and simple reports and analysis with actionable insight
- Experience driving projects from start to finish, with multiple cross-functional stakeholders
- Customer service oriented and demonstrating empathy when working with Sales and Customer Success leadership
- Effective, clear and concise communication skills
Within 1 Month, you will…
- Complete Sprout’s New Hire training program alongside other new Sprout team members. You’ll gain a broader understanding of our product and how your role fits into the organization.
- Partner with the Sr. Director of Sales Operations & Strategy to define key success metrics for your role and how you will measure against them.
- Get to know and begin to build working relationships with the Sales Operations Analyst team.
- Get to know and begin to build working relationships with stakeholders throughout our Sales and Customer Success teams as well as cross-functional teams.
- Become familiar with our sales environment and sales processes.
Within 3 Months, you will…
- Have direct management responsibility of the Sales Operations Analyst team, start providing mentorship and guidance to the team, and assist them in the execution of their objectives.
- Gain an understanding of all current reporting, analysis, and recurring work being done by the Sales Operations Analyst team.
- Gain an understanding of all Key Performance Indicators for all the various Sales and Customer Success teams.
- Gain an understanding of all quotas and quota methodology for all the various Sales and Customer Success teams.
- Gain an understanding of most Salesforce.com data and sales processes.
Within 6 months, you will…
- Have become the subject matter expert for all operational data and reporting used to support the Sales and Customer Success teams.
- Be the main conduit between Sales and Customer Success Leadership and the Sales Operations Analyst team to translating data and reporting needs into solutions.
- Continue to mentor and coach the team.
- Have started scope out and make plans to migrate all recurring reporting from Excel to Tableau.
Within 12 months, you will...
- Have gained incredible efficiency on the team by evolving the data and reporting solutions from manual Excel reporting to automated Tableau solutions.
- Have transformed the value the team provides from data and reporting to strategic insight and analysis that empowers data-backed decision making.
- Have coached, mentored, and developed the team to dramatically improve their technical skillset, project management skills, and analytical skills.
- Surprise us! Use your unique ideas and abilities to change the Sales Operations team in beneficial ways that we haven’t even considered yet.
