Department OverviewThe Software Enterprise Sales team is a group within Motorola Solutions, Inc. that provides industry leading, next generation Citizen Engagement, 9-1-1 Call Taking, Computer Aided Dispatch, Records Management, Jail Management, Public Service 311, and analytics software applications to the Public Safety and Public Service markets. No other company has the breadth and depth of technology and experience to deliver end to end public safety applications and mission critical voice and data communications systems.
The Presales Business Manager will be responsible, but not limited to the following:
- Drive all sole source & RFP (Request for Proposal) projects to completion managing the schedules of each project team member (engineering, proposal specialist, sales, and service)
Consultative guidance to our team and sales team
Coordinate with the various functional teams (Systems Integration, Service, Sales, Product Groups) to ensure all business unit goals are addressed in our proposals and win-strategies.
Development of the implementation approach and service plan necessary to win the project
Meet/exceeding customer requirements and provide value alternatives when requirements cannot be met
Participation in proposal reviews and contract negotiations
Issue RFQs (Request for Quote) for third-party content and negotiate for best cost-benefit to MSI
Manage cross-functional teams and monitor progress of all proposal deliverables needed for the customer proposal
Integral participant of the Core Team proposal review
Participate in Contract negotiations as subject matter & proposal experts
Create SI Configurator for all opportunities that go to Bid and Quote Team
Manage the Competitive Intelligence strategy for CommandCentral in tandem with the Bid and Quote team
Work with order management to log all CommanCentral projects
Get resources assigned for post sales projects
Transition all won projects from pre to post sales
Lead the Presales business Council for the Software Enterprise
Work with the P1 and Flex Presales team to include Vault in all their Proposals
Approve SI Services when done Custom in CPQ
Lead all changes to CPQ for CommandCentral from the Business Perspective
- Identify and engage work partners for opportunities that include more than just CommandCentral products
- Bachelors Degree
- 4+ years of Sales, Engineering, Project Management or Proposal Management experience
- Excellent communication skills; both verbal and written
- Ability to effectively analyze a P&L
- Comfort dealing with customers
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Project, and Google Apps.
- Take ownership of projects to drive multiple people to meet project deadlines.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to travel 25%
4+ years experience in one of the following: Sales, Engineering, Project Management or Proposal Management experience
