Department Overview
Reporting to the Sales Director of the Federal Video Security Solutions Team, the Federal Video Security Solutions Sales Manager role requires a dynamic individual who is knowledgeable and passionate about; the Federal Government market (to include Federal budgeting, contracting and procurement), the Electronic Security Systems market (preferably fixed video, analytics and access control systems) and is highly customer-focused.
The core objective of this position is to increase funnel growth and sales of our video security solutions portfolio by creating and shaping demand while increasing relationships within the Federal government customer base working closely with Motorola’s regional account teams and channel partners.
Job Description

  • Promote and market Motorola video security products and services within the Federal Government agencies
  • Work with the Motorola Account Executives and channel partners to identify, qualify, develop and close mobile video sales opportunities within the Federal Government
  • Demonstrate and present the value proposition of Motorola’s video security solutions portfolio to Federal government customers
  • Develop and execute business strategies to capture qualified opportunities to include identifying strategic partners to assist in securing business opportunities and the shaping of contracting strategies
  • Conduct sales calls, schedule promotional work, and track sales activities with channel, end user and distributor opportunities using lead and project tracking software databases
  • Engage with channel partners to coordinate and deliver bid responses, prepare for upcoming bids
  • Work with Motorola’s marketing team to develop Federal Government-centric tools, documentation and communications to further grow Motorola’s awareness and demand in the Federal marketplace to include trade show participation
  • Regularly attend meetings with end customers and internal colleagues to gather information and provide feedback on what products and services are in demand and how to best deploy those products and services to meet the video security needs of Federal Government customers
  • Meet all expectations from customers and management for timely communication in response to questions, comments, documentation, bid submissions or other matters as needed to fulfill the obligations of this position
  • Develop and execute mid and long-term strategies to ensure continued growth and solution alignment

Qualifications:

  • Understanding of the Federal Government marketplace including Federal procurement, budgeting and contracting regulations and processes
  • Experience selling video security solutions into the Federal marketplace
  • Knowledge of channel integration and distribution methodology
  • Must have excellent relationships and/or the ability to build relationships, with senior leadership of channel partners, IT solutions providers, and large system integrators
  • Experience selling large solutions systems or large, long-cycle complex deals or acting as a consultant in large deals
  • Experience in creating and shaping demand in Federal marketplace with a proven track record of sales growth results

Territory:

  • All Federal Government agencies worldwide
  • Residential location: Greater Washington, D.C. area
  • Travel: Up to 70% domestic travel; minimal international travel, as needed


Basic Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 5+ years of video solutions sales experience or 7+ years of video solutions sales experience within Federal Government agencies
  • Must be a U.S. citizen with ability to obtain a necessary security clearance as required by government contract
