Department Overview
The primary focus of the Solutions Demonstration Team is to support the Software Enterprise Sales Team through the demonstration of Computer-Aided Dispatch, Records Management, Mobile Data, Field-Based Reporting, and Jail Management software as part of the overall sales process. This includes Public Safety Applications, Next Generation 911, Video Solutions, Control Center solutions, Mobile Data, and Portable Devices to federal, state, regional, local, government and public safety agencies. This specific position will be focused on Law Enforcement Records Management.
Job Description

This is a customer facing position that relies on solid presentation skills, experience with a wide variety of audiences and a deep knowledge of various public safety agencies. Working with both customer and internal teams requires excellent interpersonal skills, leadership qualities, communication skills, and a collaborative attitude. Public Safety industry experience is expected, with specific emphasis on Computer Aided Dispatch & Mobile Data 'Computers, as either a customer or vendor. 

The qualified candidate will possess expertise in at least one or more Public Safety specialty and product (such as unit recommendations, system configuration, run cards, unit management, incident management, etc) and possess familiarity and/or working knowledge of the others.

The Solutions Demonstration Specialist, after appropriate training, is expected to configure the applications and populate demonstration databases as required to tailor the demonstration to a customer’s requirements and scenarios. As a technical resource in the sales process, the Solutions Demonstration Specialist is expected to have hands-on experience with and an understanding of networking, hardware solutions, GIS and relational database management systems.

The primary duties of the role are the demonstration and presentation of our solutions to current and prospective customers. The Solutions Demonstration Specialist is responsible for the demonstration of an integrated suite of products including Computer-Aided Dispatch, Law Records Management System, Jail Management, Mobile Data Computing, Field-Based Reporting, Dispatch Consoles, 911 Telephony and other Public Safety-related technologies (emphasis on Computer Aided Dispatch).

The Solutions Demonstration Specialist may also be required to assist with and conduct customer requirements analysis, contribute to and/or review RFI/RFP responses, provide internal product training, conduct educational seminars for consultants, staff trade shows and provide other product and domain experience as needed. The Solutions Demonstration Specialist is expected to be a Subject Matter Expert in their primary functional area or specialty.

The Solutions Demonstration Specialist is expected to have an understanding of the operational requirements of Public Safety Agencies including Law Enforcement, Fire, and EMS; and the product features of the solutions offered by Motorola Solutions that satisfy those requirements. Understanding and familiarity with multi-agency, multi-jurisdictional, multi-discipline customer environments is required. The position also involves directly working with the account managers in a collaborative environment to identify an agency’s specific requirements and tailor product demonstrations and presentations to best sell the value proposition of Motorola products and solutions.

The Solutions Demonstration Specialist reports to the department manager. After initial orientation and training, the Specialist will be given general direction from the department manager and/or demonstration lead, but is expected to perform duties and responsibilities independently. This position is not responsible for supervising any staff positions. This position is a remote position. The qualified candidate must live within a reasonable travel time to an airport supported by major airlines within the continental U.S.

Qualifications:

  • Seeking 4+ years of Solutions Demonstrations experience for Public Safety Industry.
  • Ability to attend trade shows and carry equipment that is 35+ pounds.
  • Ability to travel frequently (75%).
  • This position is subject to working in high security areas governed by the US Department of Justice's "Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy" and therefore requires successfully passing a more stringent fingerprint background check administered by Motorola Solutions Inc. customers.
