Department Overview
The Software Enterprise Sales team is an overlay sales organization within Motorola Solutions, Inc. that provides industry leading, next generation Citizen Engagement, 9-1-1 Call Taking, Computer Aided Dispatch, Records Management, Jail Management, Public Service 311, and analytics software applications to the Public Safety and Public Service markets. Transitioning from hybrid cloud-based Software as a Service (SaaS) offerings to cloud suite solutions we are driving better outcomes for the moments that matter most through digital innovation - empowering first responders to build safer communities. No other company has the breadth and depth of technology and experience to deliver end to end public safety applications and mission critical voice and data communications systems.
Job Description

The Sr. Mgr Software Sales (New Accounts) will be responsible but not limited to the following:

  • Proactively develop large project opportunities encompassing a wide range of products and services (core and emerging technologies) with particular focus on next generation technology and platforms

  • Develop strong, trusted advisor relationships with key decision makers and influencers within and outside of public safety; Mayor, CIO, and other elected officials in order to understand and influence funding. Interact with Senior customer level and consultants/lobbyists; work independently under limited direction

  • Responsible for the strategy and execution of the sales team which includes but not limited to: hiring, developing, and coaching a team of enterprise level sales professional. Interface with all team members in a way that drives business results and motivates the proper activity

  • Effectively lead internal teams on critical projects and issue resolution with clear direction and purpose

  • Maintain target Customer intelligence data in Motorola CRM system Provide timely & accurate sales forecast

  • Drive strategies with government customers for Motorola success in the bid environment

  • Be responsible for achieving both order and revenue financial performance for their assigned team’s territory by creating and maintaining a healthy team pipeline

  • Network with key Motorola Solution’s work partners including; presales engineers, area services team, marketing; product management, sales operations, order/credit management to insure your territory objectives are met

  • Accurately forecast territory order and revenue numbers on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis

  • Measure results in the sales funnel and account forecasts and take corrective action to ensure targets are met or exceeded

  • Leverage territory promotions and incentives to drive current quarter revenue targets

  • Conduct joint end user sales calls as a method of coaching and training

  • Function as a coach/consultant for Account Managers to drive efficiencies and contributions

  • Be aware of competition and technology disruptors that may impact your territory and partner community

  • Ability to quickly learn new key characteristics of products/solutions and communicate the value of those solutions to employees and customers

  • Understand Motorola Solutions contract terms & compliance requirements

  • Must be willing to travel 50+% throughout the assigned territory

Specific Knowledge/Skills:

  • Bachelors Degree with 4+ years of sales/public safety experience OR 8+ years of sales/public safety experience

  • Seeking of documented track record of sales performance within a technology environment

  • 3+ years of leadership experience

  • Effective and proven negotiation skills

  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with a C-Level executives

  • Strong relationship management skills

  • Strong organizational and analytical skills

  • Highly effective communication skills (oral, written & presentation)

  • Ability to drive strategies with government customers for Motorola success in the bid environment

  • Understanding of public safety domain, Motorola portfolio, competitive landscape; customer procurement processes and has dealt effectively with political decision making landscapes 

  • The salary range for this position is $110,000 to $120,000

  • This position is subject to working in high security areas governed by the US Department of Justice's "Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy" and therefore requires successfully passing a more stringent fingerprint background check administered by Motorola Solutions Inc. customers


Basic Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree with 4+ years of sales/public safety experience OR 8+ years of sales/public safety experience

  • 3+ years of leadership experience

  • Must be able to obtain background clearance as required by government customer
