Strategic Sales Analyst

Morningstar's Business Development & Sales group is responsible for helping our advisor and institutional clients build their businesses and provide better outcomes for investors. The group is structured primarily along the following client segments: advisors, asset management, institutional consultants, academics, pensions and hedge funds.
The Role
This is a unique opportunity for a highly organized and efficient individual to assist with increasing the effectiveness and efficiency of Morningstar's largest selling teams and to assist senior sales leaders. You will be responsible for obtaining a deep understanding of sales processes and our sales workflow. You will play a vital role to the organization as you assist salespeople and sales leaders with their day-to-day needs to ensure that our sales professionals can concentrate on their primary client engagement and management responsibilities, help identify areas of inefficiency and propose solutions to optimize the time of our sales professionals. The successful candidate will collaborate across internal functions including sales operations, finance, sales enablement, solutions, customer success, marketing, and product, with a view to enhance and improve processes and efficiencies across departments to ensure effective support to the wider sales efforts. You will assist in optimizing our sales processes related to our largest clients and complex deals, from pricing to contracting, assisting with Salesforce administration and sales reporting and acting as an additional point of contact internally and externally to facilitate support of our largest clients. This position is based in our Chicago office.
Responsibilities
- Support initiatives of sales leaders while maintaining day-to-day support of sales rep workflows
- Support and optimize the use of CRM system (Salesforce) for strategic accounts, including assisting with ongoing system administration and enhancements
- Develop ad-hoc reports as requested by user groups or stakeholders, perform analysis on data as required
- Liaising with clients to support sales administrative functions
- Assist with organization and support for sales meetings and events - internal and external
- Provide administrative support to management and the overall strategic accounts sales department
- Assist in calendar management and meeting coordination
- Ad-hoc project support and administrative duties
Qualifications
- Prior experience in administration support and/or operational analysis; sales administration experience will be an advantage
- Excellent organizational, communication, multi-tasking, and prioritization abilities
- Outstanding service orientation and proactive problem-solving skills
- Ability to engage with a wide range of stakeholders and build relationships
- Strong attention to detail
- Advanced proficiency in Windows based applications, MS Office (Word, Outlook - email and calendar management, Excel, & PowerPoint), Salesforce.com or CRM systems
- Ability to prioritize and act with appropriate judgment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to professionally handle sensitive and confidential information
- Strong detail-orientation and ability to produce accurate, high-quality work under deadline while accommodating last-minute changes
