AFS-USA is part of a worldwide network of AFS partner organizations that work together to advance global education and foster meaningful connections across cultures. As the network’s largest partner, AFS-USA works to increase the global competency of U.S. citizens by providing a variety of international and intercultural learning experiences to individuals, families, schools, and communities. We are proud of our Staff from our national office in New York City as well as home offices across the county, who collaborate with our more than 2,000 AFS-USA Volunteers to deliver high quality programs and global education resources. These include immersion-based study abroad experiences in over 40 countries worldwide; opportunities to host foreign AFS exchange students; and global learning workshops and curricula for educators, schools, and businesses.
We are currently hiring for various open positions within AFS to assist in our upcoming hosting and travel season. These positions are Seasonal and would aide in a multitude of functions throughout AFS-USA. These positions are a great opportunity for college students, recent graduates, or anyone looking to step into the Intercultural learning space.
We are currently looking to fill positions in a several areas, including but not limited to: New York City, Buffalo, Hartford, Chicago, Texas, St. Louis, San Francisco, and Portland.

Travel Operations Assistants

We are seeking applicants with a passion for the travel and education space to assist in various in-office and on-site (airports and hotels) assignments related to the departure and arrival of thousands of exchange students. These positions requires individuals who can balance the dynamics of working in a team-based environment as well as thrive in their assignments. Strong candidates should have the ability to work well under pressure, think critically, adapt to frequent in-office and on-site changes with effective communication to staff, volunteers, and students.

Community Outreach Advisor
Duration: February 2024 – September 2024

Work Type: Part-time, remote
The Seasonal Community Outreach Advisor helps secure host family and school placements for incoming international exchange students. This role will assist the Regional Field Specialist (RFS) staff in lead generation, recruitment, screening, and monitoring host family applications as well as processes, paperwork, and data entry that supports the hosting recruitment effort to achieve measurable qualitative and quantitative goals.

SALARY:
- The compensation for these positions is $18/hourly. This position is eligible for overtime pay and sick & safe time.
