About the role

We are looking to add a Security Shift Supervisor to our growing Security Department. At Riot Platforms, maintaining a safe and secure workplace is a top priority. Our Security team serves as the first line of defense, helping protect our employees, visitors, vendors, and company assets. In this role, you will help maintain a secure environment by promoting safe behaviors, controlling access, maintaining order, enforcing rules and regulations, and working collaboratively with others to address security concerns.

As a Security Shift Supervisor, you will oversee security team members and daily security operations while working closely with Assistant Supervisors and Security Officers. You will help resolve disputes, ensure Officers remain current on required training, maintain operational readiness, and support the Site Security Manager with the day-to-day needs of the security operation. This role is ideal for an experienced security professional who understands the demands of security operations and is ready to take on a leadership role.


What you'll be doing

  • Plan, schedule, organize, and direct the daily activities of the security team.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with security personnel, visitors, vendors, employees, and customers.
  • Monitor security operations and team performance, providing guidance and training to ensure professional and appropriate interactions.
  • Address customer service inquiries and security-related concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Ensure CCTV systems effectively monitor designated areas in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Conduct vehicle and foot patrols of the property, including grounds, parking areas, perimeters, entrances, exits, doors, gates, and secured areas, to identify security concerns and ensure facilities are properly secured.
  • Manage access control by greeting visitors, vendors, and employees at entry gates, verifying identification, and maintaining accurate access and visitor logs.
  • Identify, document, and report safety hazards, security breaches, suspicious activity, and other security concerns.
  • Respond promptly to emergencies, alarms, and incidents, coordinating with law enforcement, fire, EMS, and other emergency personnel as needed.
  • Conduct shift briefings and ensure accurate communication and information handoffs between shifts.
  • Administer discipline and corrective action for security team members in accordance with company policy, documenting performance concerns and coordinating with the Site Security Manager and Human Resources as needed.
  • Serve as a peer advocate and representative for security officers in disciplinary or remediation settings when requested.
  • Interview, onboard, and train new security team members, helping ensure new hires are prepared to effectively perform their duties.


What you'll have

  • Must hold a DPS Level II license upon hire and obtain a Level III license within 30 days of hire.
  • Bachelor's degree, or 5 years' experience in management, law enforcement, security, and/or military.
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license and pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check.
  • Must maintain a high level of weapons proficiency.
  • Certified in CPR/AED/First Aid.
  • Speaks, reads, and writes English and communicates clearly and congenially with guests, visitors, and employees. Bilingual skills are helpful but not required.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including report writing, with the ability to teach and mentor.
  • Ability to lead a team.
  • Ability to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
  • Effective at handling workplace problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary.
  • Ability to think clearly, analyze situations, and resolve problems using good judgment.
  • Tactical and operational knowledge of responding to incidents.
  • Excellent surveillance and observation skills.
  • Tech-savvy, with experience in surveillance systems.
  • Proficiency in self-defense techniques.
  • Must maintain a high standard of personal appearance and grooming, including wearing the proper uniform.
  • Must wear a bulletproof (ballistic) vest as part of the required uniform and equipment. (provided by company)
  • Must maintain the highest level of professionalism, accountability, attention to detail, sense of urgency, and transparency.
  • Works varying hours and schedules, including holidays, evenings, and weekends.


Physical requirements and work environment

  • Must be physically able to climb ladders and access tight or awkward spaces as required.
  • Must be able to bend, reach, stoop, and pull, with good manual dexterity.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods
  • Ability to lift and move equipment as needed (75 Pounds)
  • Ability to work onsite in a mining or data center environment (heat, noise, etc.)
  • Exposure to high noise levels and varying temperatures


Safety Requirements

  • PPE & Compliance: Strictly adhere to all site safety protocols and wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times (e.g., safety glasses, hearing protection, steel-toed boots).
  • Hazard Awareness: Proactively identify, report, and mitigate potential workplace hazards or unsafe conditions.
  • Standards: Maintain compliance with OSHA regulations and internal safety training.
  • Organization: Keep all work areas clean and free of obstructions to prevent workplace accidents.
