Department Overview
The Software Enterprise Sales team is a group within Motorola Solutions, Inc. that provides industry leading, next generation Citizen Engagement, 9-1-1 Call Taking, Computer Aided Dispatch, Records Management, Jail Management, Public Service 311, and analytics software applications to the Public Safety and Public Service markets. No other company has the breadth and depth of technology and experience to deliver end to end public safety applications and mission critical voice and data communications systems.
Job Description

Prominent, highly visible Senior Account Executive role with a rapidly growing safety software solutions company. You must have prior success selling conceptual services to Managers, Director’s, and Executive level decision makers in a competitive marketplace. You excel at building relationships and closing new business with Public Safety Organizations, State and Local Government Agencies, and K-12 School Districts. You must be accountable and a consistent self- starter, with the ability to generate and execute on strategic sales plans to win new business across a multi-state territory.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop a strong understanding of target buying personas, solution offering, and competitive landscape.

  • Work collaboratively with the TVPs and ASMs to ensure that each territory grows top line sales, territory and account penetration, and portfolio mix by leveraging optimum account assignments and Manufacturing Representative partner coverage

  • Prospect, identify, and qualify new opportunities.

  • Build and maintain healthy pipeline.

  • Demonstrated ability to sell to multiple buyers within an organization.

  • Develop and manage a sales forecast & pipeline in order to exceed annual quotas and goals.

  • Actively manage daily responsibilities to develop one’s territory such as cold calls, appointments, sales presentations, and proposals while demonstrating excellent time management skills.

  • Drive account retention and expansion by owning the end-to-end client experience—cultivating strong long-term relationships, resolving day-to-day customer service inquiries, rapidly executing quote requests, and actively prospecting within assigned accounts to uncover new organic revenue streams

Qualifications:

  • ​​Bachelors Degree with 2+ years of experience in sales, customer success, military and/or public safety

  • OR 4+ years of experience in sales, customer success, military and/or public safety

  • Strong proficiency in Salesforce or equivalent CRM systems to maintain strict funnel hygiene, opportunity forecasting, and account-mapping metrics

  • Proven understanding of state, county, and local government buying behaviors, multi-stakeholder committee dynamics, and formal RFP/RFI procurement processes

  • A self-starter with executive presence who has 5+ years of quota carrying software sales experience, preferably in the State and Local Government marketplace

  • A proven track record of growing sales territories by developing and executing on a strategic sales plan. This includes direct sales initiatives as well as collaboration with channel partners and internal resources

  • Prior experience with prospecting, discovery, pricing, quoting, negotiating, and closing deals

  • A seller with experience selling into various customer profiles including 911, Emergency Management, Public Safety, County/City Executive Offices and K-12

  • Prior familiarity or hands-on experience working with CAD (Computer-Aided Dispatch), RMS (Records Management Systems), or Jail Management Systems is highly valued

Location/Travel:

  • Preferred candidates will reside in Central or Northern Texas

  • Travel is 50-75% within the assigned territory (South/West Texas and Oklahoma)

Target Base Salary Range: $80,000 - $90,000 USD

On Target Earnings: $144,000 - $162,000 USD
