The Opportunity: As a Senior Accountant, you will play a central role in supporting critical functions of our marketplace and company financial operations. You will oversee numerous aspects of the month-end close and financial reporting process, serve as a resource on complex accounting matters, design and implement solutions to new challenges, and ensure the successful completion of business-critical responsibilities. You will work with stakeholders throughout the company to ensure the highest level of service for our buyers, sellers, partners, and vendors. This role is part of a dynamic accounting environment and provides an exciting opportunity to work and collaborate across departments and teams in the company. The successful candidate can think critically when solving new challenges, is a team player willing to help where needed, and is energized by working in a fast-paced environment.

How your role contributes to the success of Vivid Seats:

  • Complete and review critical and complex reconciliations for monthly financial reporting.
  • Works directly with department leaders within Vivid Seats and leaders from external parties (auditors, vendors, etc.).
  • Oversees projects that require high degrees of planning and coordination with stakeholders across the company.
  • Mentors others and drives improvements throughout the department.

How your role expectations will progress as a Senior Accountant in the first 30, 90, and 180 days:

30 Days In

  • Complete new hire orientation, gaining the resources you need to be successful.
  • Acclimate to Vivid Seats’ values and organizational goals to understand how our department drives initiatives forward.
  • Learn how ticket marketplaces operate and how you’ll contribute to providing great experiences for our customers.
  • Gain a strong understanding of the accounting team structure, close cycles and Vivid Seats subsidiaries.

90 Days In

  • Develop and lead initiatives for your stakeholders that enhance process, drive innovation, and build on Vivid Seats values.
  • Build, maintain, and leverage internal and external relationships to achieve progress and advance objectives.
  • Collaborate with accounting team to prepare and review accounting reconciliations.

180 Days In

  • Design and implement process improvements that positively impact the team.
  • Complete complex accounting reconciliations that rely upon technical accounting knowledge.
  • Change and improve processes to increase accuracy and effectiveness. · Mentor others, playing an active role in elevating the skill sets of those you work with.

What You’ll Bring:

  • 3+ years of accounting experience, including month-end close participation and/or audit work
  • Comprehensive understanding of accounting principles; CPA or Masters in Accounting preferred
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills and experience with large amounts of data and advanced functions
  • Intrinsic desire to complete challenging tasks and take on new responsibilities
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously

Vivid Seats Pay Transparency Disclaimer: Full time offers from Vivid Seats include FLEX PTO; mental health days; medical, dental, and vision insurance; 401K matching; quarterly credits and discounts for attending live events; and a variety of additional workplace perks. The typical starting salary within the full salary range for this position can very. Factors which may affect starting salary include geographic market, relevant skills/experience, education, and other qualifications.

Salary Range: $75,000-$110,000 

Location: Chicago, IL
