The Company

Cypress Creek Energy (CCE) is powering a sustainable future, one project at a time. CCE is a leading clean-tech company that develops, finances, owns, and operates utility-scale and distributed solar and storage projects across the country. Fostering a diverse group of innovative thinkers from all backgrounds, Cypress people are drawn to work in a purpose-driven organization. We hope you will join us.

Overview

The Senior Associate / Manager, Quantitative Analytics will be a senior individual contributor within CCE’s Revenue function. This role combines deep technical execution with mentorship, cross-functional leadership, and a growing ownership of analytical strategy. The position covers solar portfolio management, and BESS dispatch and optimization, with direct responsibility for both model development and the development of junior team members.

Reporting to the Director, Quantitative Analytics, this role is suited for a practitioner who thrives as a hands-on contributor but is ready to take the next step in technical leadership — setting standards, reviewing others’ work, and helping shape how the team approaches problems.

Main Responsibilities

Technical & Analytical

  • Design, build, and own quantitative models supporting trading strategy, asset optimization, and commercial structuring across the Revenue function
  • Develop and maintain tools for risk management, pricing of offtake agreements, and evaluation of company risk exposure
  • Monitor and analyze market signals to identify opportunities related to basis, congestion, curtailment, and intermittency
  • Incorporate weather, solar generation, load, and transmission data into decision-making frameworks
  • Support short-term BESS optimization including automated forecasting, and day-ahead optimization
  • Review and analyze PPA commercial terms; identify underlying risks and propose mitigation strategies
  • Structure value-added products leveraging CCE’s solar and storage fleet; support pricing and commercial innovation
  • Apply machine learning and optimization techniques to improve forecast accuracy and strategy performance

Mentorship

  • Serve as a technical resource and informal mentor to junior analysts and associates on the Quantitative Analytics team
  • Review and provide structured feedback on peers’ models, code, and analytical outputs to uphold quality and consistency
  • Help define and document team standards for modeling approaches, code hygiene, and analytical workflows
  • Translate complex quantitative outputs into clear, actionable insights for commercial, development, and finance stakeholders
  • Take ownership of recurring analytical deliverables and ad hoc requests with minimal direction; proactively identify gaps and improvements
  • Actively participate in hiring and onboarding efforts, including technical screening and structuring onboarding materials
  • Partner with cross-functional teams — Revenue, Development, Project Finance, and Asset Management — to align analytics to business priorities

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in competitive energy markets; experience on a power trading desk or in a quantitative/analytics role at a renewable developer, IPP, or energy hedge fund strongly preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a closely related field
  • Strong Python and SQL skills required;
  • Proficiency with modern AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor) and strong Git/version control practices, including code review workflows and collaborative development in a shared codebase
  • Working knowledge of US power market structure, protocols, and settlement mechanics, particularly ERCOT and/or PJM
  • Experience with valuation of structured products, derivatives, and renewable offtake agreements
  • Familiarity with ML/AI techniques applied to energy forecasting or optimization (price forecasting, dispatch optimization, curtailment modeling, etc.)
  • Proven ability to communicate quantitative work clearly to non-technical audiences
  • Track record of mentoring junior colleagues, providing constructive feedback, or leading technical workstreams
  • Strong commercial instincts, attention to detail, and ability to manage competing priorities independently
  • Understanding of renewable generation technology, especially solar PV and battery storage

Compensation: The salary range for the position is $150,000 - $175,000 plus bonus and benefits. Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location.

Benefits:

  • 15 days of Paid Time Off, accrual up to 20 days, 11 observed holidays.
  • 401(k) Match
  • Comprehensive package including medical, dental, vision and health insurance
  • Wellness stipend, family planning stipend, and generous parental leave
  • Tuition Reimbursement
  • Phone Bill Reimbursement
  • Company Swag
