Who We Are

At Trility Consulting®, we’ve built a strong, remote-work culture where people thrive, grow, and support each other – earning us Great Place to Work® Certification. Headquartered in Central Iowa, we embrace flexible schedules and collaboration across geographically distributed teams serving clients from all corners of the United States and globally.

We seek team members with the grit necessary to forge paths where none previously existed, to get back up when circumstances knock them down, to adapt to the changing needs of the client even when it is uncomfortable, and to deliver on our commitments. Candidates must respect and value people, recognize that over-communication is barely good enough, thrive on solving complex problems, have a passion for building teams, and know that delivering what a client actually values is more important than their own predispositions. They understand value proposition, love delivering value, and take pride in learning the expansive and ever-changing business of clients. Candidates are self-motivated and relentlessly working to become more today than they were yesterday.

What You Will Do

Trility Consulting is seeking a Senior DevSecOps Consultant who thrives in complex, security-focused environments and enjoys working across cloud infrastructure, containerization, and platform modernization. In this role, you will support and advance a Kubernetes-based platform within AWS, helping contribute hands-on to ongoing platform, infrastructure, and security initiatives.

This is a highly hands-on role where you will step into an existing environment and contribute immediately — working across Terraform-managed infrastructure, containerized services, and Python-based tooling to improve platform reliability, visibility, and scalability. You’ll play a key role in continuing modernization efforts, supporting migration and decommissioning activities, and ensuring the platform evolves to meet both mission and cost-efficiency goals.

You’ll partner with technical leadership and cross-functional stakeholders, adapting to shifting priorities while maintaining a strong focus on execution, security, and long-term sustainability. This role is best suited for a highly hands-on engineer who can step into an existing environment, quickly get oriented, and drive work forward with minimal guidance.

This is a remote 1099 or W2 position.

At this time, Trility is only able to hire W2 employees who reside in the following states:
Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, South Carolina, Texas, Tennessee, Virginia, Wisconsin, Kentucky, Delaware, North Carolina, Ohio, and Utah.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and enhance Kubernetes-based workloads and platform services within AWS
  • Maintain and extend infrastructure managed through Terraform and Terragrunt
  • Continue modernization efforts within the Elastic Stack and Kibana environment
  • Develop and improve Python-based tooling for runtime visibility, auditing, and platform insights
  • Containerize applications and services, ensuring they are deployment-ready within the platform ecosystem
  • Work within and contribute to an existing CI/CD pipeline, supporting ongoing deployment and integration workflows
  • Assist with migration and decommissioning of legacy infrastructure and services
  • Troubleshoot complex issues across cloud infrastructure, containerized environments, and platform services, performing root cause analysis and resolution
  • Implement and support infrastructure automation and operational best practices
  • Contribute to platform and security modernization initiatives aligned with mission requirements and cost optimization goals
  • Collaborate with technical leadership and stakeholders as priorities evolve, ensuring alignment and forward progress
  • Document systems, processes, and solutions to support maintainability and knowledge sharing

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in DevOps, DevSecOps, or Platform Engineering roles
  • Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes, including deploying and supporting containerized workloads
  • Solid experience working with AWS in production environments
  • Proven experience building and managing infrastructure using Terraform and/or Terragrunt
  • Experience containerizing applications using Docker and preparing services for deployment
  • Strong, production-level Python experience, including building and maintaining data/tools and working with AWS via boto
  • Hands-on experience using AWS SDKs (boto3) to build and interact with AWS services is required
  • Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills across distributed systems and cloud environments
  • Experience working with Linux systems and general systems administration concepts
  • Ability to work effectively within existing CI/CD pipelines and engineering workflows
  • Experience with infrastructure automation and platform operations
  • Comfortable working in security-focused or high-assurance environments
  • Ability to operate independently, navigate ambiguity, and drive work forward
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
