CMiT is seeking a highly motivated Senior Backend Developer (AWS) to join our growing technology team. In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain scalable cloud-native applications while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions that support critical federal missions.

The ideal candidate is a strong problem solver with deep experience in modern JavaScript technologies, AWS cloud services, and backend application development. You will play a key role in building secure, high-performing solutions while contributing to an agile and collaborative development environment.

QualificationsRequired Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field

  • Minimum 5 years of professional software development experience with Node.js

  • Minimum 5 years of professional software development experience with React

  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with AWS services, including:

    • AWS Lambda

    • DynamoDB

    • Amazon S3

    • EventBridge

    • Kinesis

  • Minimum 2 years of experience working with AWS cloud tools and services

  • Minimum 1 year of experience writing SQL and working with relational databases

  • Strong understanding of complex business processes and the systems that support them

  • Ability to analyze issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment

  • Passion for solving complex software challenges and delivering high-quality solutions

  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly and adapt in a fast-paced environment


Clearance Requirement

Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain a Public Trust clearance. Preference will be given to candidates with an active or recent ICE or CBP clearance.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience developing Single Page Applications (SPA)

  • Experience with Agile development methodologies

  • Experience with DevOps and CI/CD tools, including:

    • Git

    • Jenkins

    • CloudBees

    • React Testing Library

    • Jest

  • Experience working with both relational databases and DynamoDB

  • Experience supporting federal government IT programs
