Brown & Brown is seeking a Senior Benefits Consultant to join our growing team!
This role blends thought leadership, market strategy, and high‑impact consulting for the purpose of developing new business. You will shape benefits strategies for major employers while driving new business, expanding relationships, and positioning our firm as a trusted advisor in a competitive marketplace.
How You Will Contribute:
Strategic Advisory
Serve as the lead strategic advisor for large and mid-sized employers, developing multi‑year health & welfare benefits strategies that improve cost, quality, and employee experience.
Guide C‑suite leaders on long‑term healthcare strategies and tactics.
Provide insights on emerging market trends, regulatory changes, and innovation within benefits, helping clients stay ahead of industry shifts.
Business Development & Growth
Manage, lead, and grow a profitable portfolio of clients and customers.
Identify, pursue, and secure new large‑employer clients through proactive prospecting, networking, executive presentations, and participation in industry forums.
Lead the full cycle of RFP responses, finalist presentations, and solution design for prospective clients.
Build and expand relationships with CHROs, CFOs, Total Rewards leaders, and other executive sponsors to drive upsell and cross‑sell opportunities.
Partner with leadership to shape go‑to‑market strategy, market positioning, and intellectual capital that differentiates the firm.
Client Delivery & Team Leadership
Oversee complex client engagements, ensuring strategic alignment, exceptional delivery, and measurable outcomes.
Deliver executive‑level presentations that simplify complexity and guide strategic decision‑making.
Mentor junior consultants and analysts; develop internal frameworks, tools, and models to enhance practice capabilities.
Foster cross‑functional collaboration across enterprise capabilities.
Demonstrate strong executive presence and communication skills in both internal and external settings.
Licenses & Certifications:
Must obtain and maintain active Life/Accident and Health Insurance Agent License
Skills & Experience to be Successful:
Minimum of 4 year degree or equivalent work experience required.
9+ years employee benefits experience with a thorough understanding and knowledge of employee benefits
4+ years financial experience.
Proficient with MS Office Suite
Microsoft Excel – Strong to expert level skills required
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong analytical and critical thinking ability
Ability to work independently.
Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills.
This position may require routine or periodic travel which may require the teammate to drive their own vehicle or a rental vehicle. If required, acceptable results of a Motor Vehicle Record report at the time of hire and periodically thereafter, and maintenance of minimum acceptable insurance coverages are requirements of this position.
Pay Range
$150,000 - $200,000 AnnualThe pay range provided above is made in good faith and based on our lowest and highest annual salary or hourly rate paid for the role and takes into account years of experience required, geography, and/or budget for the role.
