At Mintel, we help businesses understand people, markets, and what comes next. As a global market intelligence agency, our understanding of consumers, innovation, and markets gives clients the clarity to act and the confidence to lead. With more than 50 years of expertise, we combine the real-world understanding of our experts with advanced technology to uncover patterns, anticipate change, and help organizations make smarter decisions.

We are looking for a commercially minded consulting sales professional to grow our Consulting and Custom Solutions business across leading Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) and Beauty brands in the Americas.

You will partner closely with Account Managers to identify opportunities, uncover client challenges, and convert business needs into high-value consulting engagements. As a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, you will help clients address strategic priorities through consumer insights, social intelligence, innovation, and custom consulting solutions.

This is an individual contributor role for someone who combines deep CPG expertise, consultative selling skills, and a passion for building long-term client partnerships.

What You Will Do

  • Partner with Account Managers to identify, develop, and close consulting opportunities within priority CPG and Beauty accounts.
  • Lead client discovery conversations to uncover business challenges, strategic objectives, decision drivers, and measures of success.
  • Translate client needs into relevant consulting and custom research solutions across consumer insights, social intelligence, innovation, and related capabilities.
  • Generate new consulting revenue by identifying pilot opportunities and expanding successful engagements into ongoing, renewable programs.
  • Establish clear success metrics with clients, track outcomes, and communicate the value and return on investment of each engagement.
  • Collaborate with consulting teams to support scoping, proposal development, statements of work, and a smooth transition into project delivery.
  • Maintain strong client relationships throughout engagements and identify opportunities for follow-on work and account expansion.
  • Act as the voice of the client by sharing market needs, emerging challenges, and feedback with consulting, product, and commercial teams.
  • Support the development and maintenance of case studies, sales collateral, and go-to-market materials.

What Success Looks Like

  • Clients view you as a trusted strategic partner who understands their business, category, and competitive environment.
  • You proactively identify opportunities and business issues before clients have fully articulated them.
  • You clearly communicate commercial value and ROI throughout the sales cycle.
  • You bring fresh thinking and industry expertise that helps clients respond to market trends and stay ahead of competitors.
  • You consistently contribute to consulting revenue growth by prioritizing high-value opportunities and maintaining a strong, qualified pipeline.
  • You build lasting client relationships that lead to repeat business, renewable programs, and long-term partnerships.

What We Are Looking For

Essential Experience

  • 7+ years of relevant experience in CPG insights, category strategy, brand strategy, research consultancy, analytics, or a related commercial discipline.
  • 3+ years of demonstrated success selling consulting, insights, research, analytics, or strategic advisory solutions.
  • Experience building and growing renewable client programs and expanding account value over time.
  • A strong track record of developing scopes of work and winning consulting or research projects, ideally with U.S.-based CPG clients.
  • Deep understanding of consumer research methodologies, social intelligence, and innovation insights, including how these capabilities combine to solve business challenges.
  • Ability to work effectively in a matrixed organization and collaborate across sales, consulting, product, and delivery teams.
  • Executive-level communication, discovery, negotiation, and relationship-management skills.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience working with large multinational CPG or Beauty brands.
  • Familiarity with commercializing data-driven consulting solutions.
  • Experience engaging senior client stakeholders and navigating complex enterprise buying groups.
