Company Overview:

Blue Orange Digital is a boutique data & AI consultancy that delivers enterprise-grade results. We design and build modern data platforms, analytics, and ML/AI Agent solutions for mid‑market and enterprise clients across Private Equity, Financial Services, Healthcare, and Retail.

Our teams work with technologies like Databricks, Snowflake, dbt, and the broader Microsoft ecosystem to turn messy, real-world data into trustworthy, actionable insight.

We’re a builder‑led, client‑first culture that prizes ownership, clear communication, and shipping high‑impact work.

Position Overview:

This role is for an expert‑level leader who can define architectural solutions, mentor others, and influence the technical direction of client projects, with deep knowledge of system optimization and data governance.

Experience:

7+ years of industry experience as a hands‑on practitioner in Data Engineering, with extensive cloud platform experience (e.g., 5+ years of experience with cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure).

Note: Please submit your resume in English, as all application materials must be in English for review and consideration.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Define and implement architectural solutions that ensure the delivery speed and scalability of data pipelines, including the design and enforcement of the Medallion Architecture (or similar tiered structures).

  • Lead the adoption of managed and serverless cloud offerings to create performant and scalable cloud‑native application solutions, leveraging lakehouses and warehouses.

  • Drive best practices for advanced ETL/ELT workflows, data governance, and data quality across platforms, utilizing tools like dbt and Fivetran for orchestrating jobs and executing code from notebooks.

  • Serve as a technical leader, defining and enforcing data security and access control policies across all data pipelines and platforms.

  • Serve as a technical leader, ensuring robust systems across heterogeneous technology environments and BI integrations (e.g., Tableau, Looker, and Power BI).

Key Requirements:
  • Mastery of Python and advanced proficiency in SQL (TypeScript/JavaScript/Java a plus).

  • Extensive experience designing and building robust CI/CD pipelines and managing Infrastructure as Code.

  • Deep expertise in ETL/ELT process optimization, dimensional data modeling, and data security best practices.

  • Expertise in 3–5 major cloud and data platforms and exposure to all (AWS, GCP, Azure, Snowflake, Databricks, and Fabric).

Consulting & Communication:
  • Serve as a key resource in client‑facing consulting, driving customer engagement, influencing technical solutions for clients, and presenting complex architectural decisions.

  • Proven ability to lead customer engagement and influence technical direction in a consulting environment.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively with all stakeholders.

  • Background checks may be required for certain positions/projects.

What We Offer
  • Competitive base compensation with performance bonuses

  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision benefits

  • 401(k) with company match

  • Work on diverse, high-impact engagements across industries

  • Direct access to leading-edge data and AI stacks (Snowflake, Databricks, AWS, GCP, Azure)

  • Builder culture where analysts lead engagements and ship work, not slides

  • Professional development budget and certification support

  • Flexible remote work environment with a collaborative, high-talent team

Salary: $145,000 – $175,000 USD yearly

Background checks may be required for certain positions/projects.
