Position Title:                          Senior Data Scientist, Finance Analytics

Position Location:                   220 Montgomery Street, Ste 2000, San Francisco, CA 94104

Salary:                                     $120,000 - $129,000 per year                                    

Hours:                                     Monday – Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm

Summary of Duties:   

  • Own the monthly revenue forecast process and assist in the quarterly/annual financial planning of Extend.
  • Build reports and dashboard to help monitor / track revenue performance in a timely manner and make business recommendations based on the monitoring.
  • Perform exploratory data analysis to assemble metrics and KPIs to assess and gauge activity across the Extend platform, and support teams throughout Extend by delivering analyses and process improvements to help the business continue to scale.
  • Support business operations, finance, revenue operations, and other internal teams by building analytics and reporting to understand overall business performance and increase organizational efficiencies.
  • Work with data engineering and product teams to ensure proper data tracking is set up for features and products, and support debugging and development of new ETL processes.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the organizations to establish the highest business priorities and opportunities by measuring expected reach and impact for operations focused teams.
  • Work with our Risk & Insurance team to build deep-dive analytics to help drive step-change improvements in efficiency (beyond day-to-day workforce management).

Telecommuting is permitted within the U.S.

Education requirements:           Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Analytics, Business, Management, or closely related field. 

Experience requirements:         2 years of experience in Data Scientist related position.

Special Skills or Other Requirements:

Must have experience with each of the following:

  1. Experience in analytics and finance strategy, including forecasting and performance measurement.
  2. SQL and Python for data querying, modeling, and workflow automation.
  3. Statistical analysis using R or Julia for advanced modeling.
  4. Data pipeline development and modeling with dbt, AWS, and other cloud platforms.
  5. Machine learning applications in finance, including forecasting, variance analysis.
  6. Data visualization and stakeholder communication using Tableau, Mode, Snowsight, and Google Sheets
