You will be part of analytics strategy for underwriting, collaborating with leadership to guide critical organizational decisions. This position provides a chance to impact the organization's direction while developing a portfolio of high-impact analytical projects. You will be part of analytics initiatives through all the stages – defining investigation of data, analyzing the data, finding the root cause, developing the solution and presenting to key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage data pipelines and workflows by working alongside data engineers to design and enhance data pipelines, while also developing your own processes for data handling, transformation, and analysis.
  • Employ quantitative analysis and data visualization to uncover insights that go beyond the numbers and reveal what drives errors in our business.
  • Discover business opportunities through data-driven insights and create impactful analytical solutions.
  • Independently investigate data and establish a structured analytical plan to extract valuable insights.
  • Develop, implement, and assess hypotheses to identify the factors leading to forecasting errors.
  • Convey analytical findings and solutions through engaging narratives and visualizations, effectively involving stakeholders to support informed business decisions.
  • Be proficient in coding, GIT, documentation, and best practices for quality assurance.
  • Deliver actionable recommendations to senior leadership and internal stakeholders.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • 3+ years of experience in prescriptive and descriptive analytics, statistics, or a related discipline, demonstrating a strong capability to perform root cause analysis and deliver actionable insights that aid in strategic decision-making.
  • Expertise in SQL and Python (Pandas) with 3+ years of professional experience.
  • Ability to approach ambiguous problems and resolve them in a structured, hypothesis-driven manner supported by data.
  • Develop comprehensive analytics experiments, reports, and dashboards utilizing SQL, Python, or other scripting and statistical tools.
  • Experience collaborating with business leaders and key stakeholders to gather requirements and build solutions accordingly.
  • Proven track record of making a measurable impact on the business's bottom line (e.g., cost savings, increased efficiency).
  • Familiarity with AWS and Azure platforms.
  • Strong statistical and analytical foundation with practical experience in experimental design and ROI analysis.
  • Proficient in investigating various data sources and systems to identify root causes and provide effective solutions, which may involve machine learning or statistical techniques.
  • Skilled in using Microsoft Office Suite, including MS Excel and PowerPoint.

Preferred:

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills that utilize statistical and machine learning techniques.
  • Proven ability to effectively communicate technical concepts and their implications to business stakeholders.
  • Proficient in various mathematical analysis methods, machine learning, statistical analysis, and predictive modeling, with in-depth expertise in specific areas.
  • Strong understanding of advanced analytics tools and programming languages for analyzing large datasets from diverse sources.
  • Solid SQL, Pyspark, and Python coding skills are essential.
  • Experience in the Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) industry and/or management consulting is a plus.
  • Master’s degree in computer science, Data Science, or a related field.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Experience working collaboratively with data engineering teams on designing data pipelines.
