Senior Data Scientist

What does a successful Senior Data Scientist do at Fiserv?

A successful Senior Data Scientist at Fiserv designs, builds, and maintains data science solutions that support business goals and client needs. They partner with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into clear technical approaches and deliver reliable, high-quality outcomes. They set a strong engineering bar through testing, peer reviews, and mentoring to help the team scale.

What you will do?

  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of solutions to support Fiserv business goals.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Perform development, testing, and debugging to ensure performance and reliability.
  • Maintain and improve existing codebases and lead peer review processes.
  • Mentor junior team members and provide technical guidance to strengthen team capabilities.

What you must have?

  • 6+ years of experience in software development (or equivalent combination of education/experience/military).
  • 3+ years of experience with 1+ programming language (Java, C, C#, C++, or similar).
  • 3+ years of experience with SQL databases.
  • 3+ years of experience with 1+ cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

What would be nice to have?

  • 3+ years of experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
  • 3+ years of experience working in Agile methodologies.
  • 1+ years of experience in the financial services industry.
