Job Description:

GDIT seeks a seasoned business development and operations executive to lead and drive growth in our FAA and DoT business area. This person will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with federal aviation and transportation executives by aligning GDIT's innovative technical solutions with their mission needs, resulting in direct business area growth. As part of driving growth initiatives, operational responsibilities will include best-in-class delivery of special projects and programs. This leader will report to and work closely with the Vice President, FAA & DoT Solutions business area leader on driving growth and tangible programmatic/operational outcomes. The Senior Director will collaborate and serve as a trusted advisor to the customer set as well as GDIT's executive leadership. This is a highly impactful and visible role and is an opportunity to make an impact on our Federal Civilian division.
MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT
As a Senior Director, Growth & Operations for FAA & DoT, your responsibilities will include:

  • Drive growth of the FAA and DoT business area in support of the FAA and DoT customer

  • Lead business development support for the FAA/DoT business area including support across the full new business capture lifecycle - from opportunity identification, qualification, and win strategy development through award and delivery

  • Work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team to formulate, communicate and implement an integrated business development and capture strategy that provides customers with a clear and defensible justification for selecting GDIT for pipeline opportunities

  • Collaborate with executive leadership, delivery and technical teams to foster deep relationships with the customer driving on-contract growth

  • Direct operational special project and program activities to meet client and organization work objectives and serves as a liaison with clients to coordinate activities, negotiate tasks, and solve problems.

  • Develop a pipeline of new business opportunities that support the FAA/DoT business area and Division growth goals

  • Develop and implement both short and long-term campaign plans and strategies, maintain a firm comprehension of the customer's requirements, understand the strengths/weaknesses of our competitors, and develop/implement winning strategies that highlight GDIT strengths and mitigate weaknesses

  • Perform business development services including networking and research to increase business and maintain a current knowledge base of opportunities

  • Drive best-in-class delivery on ad hoc projects and programs for the FAA and DoT customers

  • Meet with current and potential clients to understand customer mission needs relative to GDIT/partner capabilities and solutions

  • Actively engage with FAA and DoT industry partners including potential teaming partners, trade associations, and other industry groups driving brand awareness, relationship development, and both tactical and strategic partnerships

  • Develop and execute opportunity-specific call plans collaborating with technical staff to test and vet potential solutions with targeted customers

  • Lead and support the development of white papers, proposals, solutions, plans of action, business plans, and marketing materials

  • Inform and participate in strategy, technical, and pricing reviews

  • Act as the voice of the customer providing customer insight and market intelligence throughout the opportunity life cycle

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED
The Senior Director, Growth & Operations for FAA and DoT Solutions must have:

  • Degree: Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Aeronautics, Computer Science or comparable discipline; Additional MBA/MPA desired

  • Experience: 10+ years of related experience with existing and demonstrated positive trusted relationships with current FAA and DoT mission owners and decision makers

  • Demonstrated success winning large deals and strong operational performance specific to FAA and DoT programs

  • Experience engaging with senior aviation/transportation stakeholders such as ATCA, AIC, NATCA, PASS, and/or ICAO

  • Must have a network of proven relationships at FAA and DoT with the ability to demonstrate an understanding of the customer and partner agencies including organizational structure, mission priorities, and general procurement approaches

  • Technical skills: Must have working knowledge of communications, cloud, cyber, ITIL-based IT service management, applications modernization, date transfer/exchange and management and artificial intelligence

  • US Citizenship required

  • Clearance: Must have an active secret clearance

  • Must be an active listener with excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Ability to travel 25%+ CONUS/OCONUS as required

  • Demonstrated ability to motivate and guide technical teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

The likely salary range for this position is $225,250 - $304,750. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.

GDIT typically provides new employees with 15 days of paid leave per calendar year to be used for vacations, personal business, and illness and an additional 10 paid holidays per year. Paid leave and paid holidays are prorated based on the employee’s date of hire. The GDIT Paid Family Leave program provides a total of up to 160 hours of paid leave in a rolling 12 month period for eligible employees.
