Job Description

The Senior Director, Membership & Market Development is responsible for growing and retaining Health Evolution's Enterprise Membership and Partnership base. This individual owns a book of prospective and current Members — identifying and cultivating relationships with CEOs and C-suite executives, guiding them through the membership sales cycle, and managing the renewal process to protect and grow recurring revenue. The role partners closely with the EVP, Membership & Market Development and works cross-functionally with Marketing, Member Experience, and Curation teams to ensure a seamless prospect-to-Member journey. This role reports directly to the EVP, Membership & Market Development, and works alongside other members of the Membership team responsible for new sales, renewals, and Member engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own a pipeline of prospective Enterprise Members and Corporate/Strategic Partners across payer, provider, and life sciences organizations, from first outreach through signed agreement.
  • Manage the full sales cycle for new membership opportunities: outbound prospecting, discovery calls, benefit and pricing presentations, proposal development, and contract close.
  • Lead the annual renewal process for an assigned portfolio of Members, including tracking renewal timelines, identifying at-risk accounts, and building retention plans.
  • Build and maintain relationships with CEOs, C-suite executives, and their offices, serving as a trusted point of contact throughout the membership lifecycle.
  • Identify upsell and expansion opportunities within existing Member accounts (e.g., additional Member seats, Partnership upgrades).
  • Maintain accurate and current pipeline, account, and forecast data in Salesforce.
  • Collaborate with Marketing on outbound campaigns, referral programs, and lead follow-up to keep the top of funnel full.
  • Partner with the Member Experience and Curation teams to ensure new Members are successfully onboarded and existing Members remain engaged ahead of renewal.
  • Represent Health Evolution at the Summit, Connect, and select Forum Roundtables to deepen prospect and Member relationships in person.
  • Contribute to pricing, packaging, and benefit strategy discussions based on market and prospect feedback.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior members of the Membership team as the function grows

What Success Looks Like

  • Consistent achievement of new membership sales targets and quarterly pipeline goals.
  • Strong renewal rate across an assigned portfolio of Enterprise Members and Partners.
  • Accurate, up-to-date forecasting that gives leadership visibility into new and renewal revenue.
  • Deep, durable relationships with Member CEOs and their offices that translate into referrals and expansion.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in a quota-carrying sales, business development, or membership/association management role, ideally within health care, health tech, or a membership-based organization.
  • Demonstrated success managing a full sales cycle and carrying a renewal or retention target, including forecasting and pipeline management in a CRM (Salesforce preferred).
  • Comfort and credibility engaging directly with CEOs and other C-suite executives and their offices.
  • Strong understanding of, or ability to quickly learn, the payer, provider, and life sciences landscape.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including proposal writing and executive-level presentations.
  • Highly organized and self-directed, with the ability to manage a large, varied account portfolio simultaneously.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Willingness to travel for Health Evolution convenings and Member meetings (estimated 15–20%).

Additional Information

Benefits

  • Ability to work remotely
  • Competitive base salary plus additional variable performance-based compensation
  • Competitive, comprehensive health care coverage
  • Flexible paid time off
  • 401k w/company match
