How will you make a difference?

The Senior Director, Transit Services Sales is a senior commercial leader responsible for driving service revenue growth across the transit segment by leading a team of Key Account Managers (KAMs) and Business Development Directors. This role owns the regional service sales strategy for transit customers, with full accountability for order intake, backlog, customer satisfaction, and long-term growth across multiple Wabtec P&Ls.

The Sr. Director balances strategic leadership and hands-on customer engagement, ensuring consistent execution across accounts while developing scalable sales processes, account plans, and growth initiatives. This leader acts as the primary escalation point for key transit agencies and partners closely with operations, engineering, pricing, and supply chain to deliver profitable and sustainable service solutions across the lifecycle.

Location: Flexible for right candidate. Chicago, New York City and major northeastern US cities are strongly preferred.

What do we want to know about you?

• 20+ years of progressive experience in sales, commercial leadership, or business development within transit, rail, rolling stock, or aftermarket services.
• Proven experience leading and developing sales teams.
• Deep understanding of rolling stock maintenance, lifecycle services, and transit agency procurement practices.
• Executive-level communication and negotiation skills.
• Experience with Salesforce CRM.
• Ability to travel up to 50%.

 

What will your typical day look like?

• Own overall Transit Services sales performance, including order intake, margin, and pipeline health.
• Translate enterprise and divisional strategies into executable regional and account-level sales plans.
• Drive growth across aftermarket parts, overhaul, modernization, engineering services, kitting, and lifecycle extensions.
• Ensure a balanced and forward-looking opportunity pipeline aligned with quarterly and annual targets.

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of Key Account Managers and Business Development Directors.
• Set clear performance expectations, objectives, and metrics aligned with business priorities.
• Build a strong sales talent pipeline and promote a culture of accountability, customer focus, and continuous improvement.

• Act as the executive sponsor for key transit customers and strategic accounts.
• Strengthen senior-level customer relationships and serve as the escalation point for commercial and service delivery issues.
• Guide long-term account strategies focused on service growth and multi-year agreements.

 

You may also be asked to perform other duties outside of your function or trade, for which adequate training will be provided if necessary.

Additional Information

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The salary rate for this role is currently $164,900 - 235,000 The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. More information on offered benefits, which include health, welfare, and retirement, are available at mywabtecbenefits.com. Other benefit offerings for this role may include annual bonus, if eligible.
