THE ROLE

Blue Ops is hiring a Senior Finance & Accounting Manager to join our Financial Operations team! Our team specializes in helping small to medium-sized businesses, private equity portfolio companies, and other clients strengthen their finance and accounting operations. The Senior Finance & Accounting Manager will be responsible for developing key accounting and finance processes, ensuring GAAP compliance, managing month-end close, and supporting audits, while also providing financial analysis, modeling, and business process improvements. This role balances hands-on accounting expertise with strategic advisory responsibilities, partnering with clients across multiple industries.

The Senior Finance & Accounting Manager will also advise clients on business systems in partnership with our technology team, lead project teams, and act as the P&L owner for key client engagements.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Lead and oversee accounting operations for clients, including month-end and year-end close, reconciliations, and internal controls.
  • Ensure GAAP compliance, accurate technical accounting, and high-quality financial reporting.
  • Serve as primary liaison with external auditors and support audit processes.
  • Provide financial analysis, modeling, and forecasting in support of client objectives.
  • Partner with technology teams on ERP/accounting system design and implementation.
  • Act as the key point of contact for executives, boards, and private equity stakeholders.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop accounting and finance teams to ensure excellence in deliverables.
  • Identify opportunities to expand client relationships and the scope of services.
  • Support strategic FP&A initiatives (budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis) as needed.

WHAT IT TAKES

Success in this role requires deep accounting expertise, strong leadership, and the ability to advise clients in dynamic environments. Key competencies include:

  • Proven technical accounting skills (GAAP, reporting, internal controls).
  • Experience with audits and compliance for complex organizations.
  • Strong client communication and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple engagements and lead cross-functional teams.
  • Comfortable with ERP, accounting, and BI/reporting systems.
  • Adaptable, resourceful, and able to thrive in ambiguous situations.

WHAT YOUR RESUME SHOWS

  • CPA required; Big 4 or public accounting experience strongly preferred. Corporate accounting leadership also considered.
  • 7–15 years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (Master’s a plus).
  • Expertise in month-end close, technical accounting, financial reporting, and audits.
  • Exposure to FP&A, budgeting, and forecasting is a plus.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, ERP, and financial reporting systems.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing client relationships.

THE PACKAGE

The base salary range for this position may also include variable compensation, i.e., annual bonus target and commission incentives. Individual pay will be determined based on factors such as skills, experience, and education. While the range listed reflects the target compensation for new hires, we may exercise flexibility to accommodate exceptional qualifications or circumstances.

In addition to a competitive pay program, we believe in supporting the health, wealth, and well-being of our team members and their families through a comprehensive benefits package. Our benefits include:

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) retirement plan with company match
