About Fello

Fello is a platform where anyone going through life challenges can find support and guidance from someone who has overcome the same challenges. Those seeking help can choose from a selection of peers who have “been there,” wherever and whenever the need arises. And for those who have experience to share, Fello offers the opportunity to be compensated for sharing hard-won lived experiences, while also making a meaningful impact on others’ lives.

Overview of Role

We're a fast-moving startup looking for a product-minded frontend engineer who’s fluent in React and TypeScript, and ideally comfortable with Next.js. You’ll be part of a small team building core product features from the ground up.

This is a hands-on role focused on shipping real product—early and often. You'll work closely with product and design to turn ideas into polished, performant experiences.

We care more about what you’ve built than how long you’ve been working, but we think the right person likely has 4–6+ years of experience shipping production React/TypeScript code.

You’ll succeed here if you’re:
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and switching contexts
  • Experienced enough to move fast without breaking everything
  • Pragmatic about tradeoffs—when to hack, when to invest
  • Excited by prototyping and validating ideas, not just scaling systems

This role is for someone who enjoys the zero-to-one phase and wants to have a direct impact on product, process, and user experience.

We have a strong preference for candidates with prior startup experience.

Candidates must be willing to work in person with our Chicago team in our Glencoe office a couple of days per week.

If you're looking for high ownership, tight feedback loops, and a chance to help shape how we build—we’d love to hear from you.

 Compensation & Benefits
  • $160-180k base + meaningful equity
  • Health, dental, and vision coverage; company covers 50%
