Job Summary

The Full-Stack Engineer (Growth Products) is a data-driven software engineer who will build, iterate, and optimize the high-traffic digital applications powering user onboarding, checkout, registration, and donation funnels. Merging engineering excellence with a sharp growth mindset, you will design user experiences, execute complex A/B testing, and deploy sophisticated personalization engines. This role sits at the intersection of product engineering and conversion optimization, directly impacting global reader revenue, subscriber retention, and real-time audience engagement.

Responsibilities
  • Funnel Optimization: Design, build, and scale registration workflows, secure checkout systems, and friction-free donation architectures across highly trafficked web and mobile applications.

  • Onboarding & Acquisition: Develop and iterate on personalized user onboarding experiences and automated marketing messaging layers to boost reader activation and conversion yields.

  • Experimentation & A/B Testing: Plan, build, and programmatically deploy A/B and multivariate experiments to isolate performance drivers across the customer journey.

  • Subscription Engine Integration: Configure and seamlessly integrate enterprise subscription/paywall frameworks (Zephr) and Customer Data Platforms (BlueConic) to manage user entitlement logic and content gate segmentations.

  • API & Systems Connectivity: Build, secure, and maintain custom APIs and external microservices integrations that handle subscriber transaction processing and core growth features.

  • Personalization & Predictive Logic: Deploy next-best-action models and data pipelines to deliver contextually relevant messages and engagement triggers to readers at peak engagement windows.

  • Data-Driven Feature Execution: Audit behavioral drop-off points, closely monitor checkout health metrics, and collaborate with product, design, and analytics teams to engineer long-term solutions.

Qualifications and Job Requirements

Must-Have Technical Expectations & Core Skills:

  • Professional Longevity: 6+ years of dedicated, professional software engineering experience, working inside a high-traffic digital media house, e-commerce engine, or transactional SaaS platform.

  • Front-End Mastery: Expert-level proficiency in React and modern JavaScript/TypeScript, with an analytical focus on core web vitals, cross-device web performance, and crisp UI/UX.

  • Backend & API Systems: Strong experience developing modular APIs, conducting third-party middleware integrations, and securely connecting client experiences to backend transaction layers.

  • Growth Architecture: A proven track record of engineering transactional flows, payment processor integrations, donation infrastructure, or user acquisition conversion systems.

  • Testing Rigor: Practical, hands-on experience building code for A/B testing tools and tracking behavioral cohorts under strict data collection principles.

Nice-to-Have:

  • Paywall Engineering: Direct technical exposure to specialized subscription experience platforms, identity gates, or paywall engines (e.g., Zephr, Piano).

  • Customer Data Systems: Hands-on experience configuring Customer Data Platforms (CDPs) or dynamic optimization engines (e.g., BlueConic, Tealium).

  • Product Analytics: Familiarity with data analysis tooling (e.g., Google Analytics, Mixpanel) used to audit event actions and debug pipeline drop-offs.

What We Offer
  • 100% Remote Work: Enjoy the freedom to work from the location that helps you thrive. All it takes is a laptop and a reliable internet connection.

  • Highly Competitive USD Pay: Earn an excellent, market-leading compensation in USD, that goes beyond typical market offerings.

  • Paid Time Off: We value your well-being. Our paid time off policies ensure you have the chance to unwind and recharge when needed.

  • Work with Autonomy: Enjoy the freedom to manage your time as long as the work gets done. Focus on results, not the clock.
