The Difference You Will Make:

The Senior Lead, Programs & Partnerships will serve as a senior leader shaping Airbnb.org’s global programmatic vision and building the partnerships required to achieve it. This role is responsible for defining how Airbnb.org programs are designed, launched, scaled, and integrated, while also overseeing the global Partnerships organization that recruits and manages nonprofit and government partners.

As both strategist and builder, the Senior Lead Programs & Partnerships will lead multiple teams, ensure alignment across functions, and represent Airbnb.org externally with senior stakeholders. This position is critical to advancing Airbnb.org’s mission and scaling its impact worldwide.

A Typical Day: 

  • Program Strategy & Vision: Set the long-term roadmap for Airbnb.org’s programs, ensuring they are bold in vision, strategically aligned, and positioned for sustainable growth.
  • Program Design & Growth: Oversee the design of innovative program models and frameworks, translating mission into scalable solutions with measurable impact.
  • Global Partnerships Leadership: Lead and expand the Partnerships organization, responsible for building and managing nonprofit and government networks across regions to support all Airbnb.org programs.
  • Team Leadership: Build and mentor a high-performing global team of program and partnership leaders, providing strategic direction, coaching, and accountability.
  • Cross-Functional Alignment: Partner with Operations, Technology, Customer Support, Marketing, and Fundraising to ensure program and partnership strategies are supported by scalable systems and processes.
  • Metrics & Impact: Oversee the creation of KPIs and evaluation frameworks for programs and partnerships, using insights to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Executive Contribution: Serve as a member of Airbnb.org’s senior leadership team, contributing to organizational strategy, decision-making, and culture.
  • External Representation: Serve as a senior ambassador for Airbnb.org with governments, nonprofits, funders, and cross-sector partners, positioning Airbnb.org as a leader in innovative crisis housing solutions.

Your Expertise:

  • 12+ years of professional experience, including at least 10 years in leadership roles.
  • Demonstrated success designing, scaling, and integrating mission-driven programs in the US and other global markets.
  • Proven experience leading large partnerships or stakeholder engagement teams, ideally with nonprofit and government partners.
  • Strong strategic, business-building, and systems-thinking skills; able to set bold vision and translate it into sustainable global action.
  • Exceptional people leadership skills, with experience managing senior managers and building high-performing, diverse teams.
  • Experience scaling global partnerships and programs across diverse cultural, political, and regulatory environments.
  • Experience working in or with non-profit organizations
  • Familiarity with technology-enabled or platform-based programs.
  • Deep cross-functional collaboration experience, particularly with operations and technology leaders.
  • Outstanding communication and external representation skills; proven ability to influence at executive, board, and senior government levels.
  • Willingness to travel internationally (up to 40%) and work flexibly across time zones.
  • Multilingual skills

This position is US - Remote Eligible. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed to with your manager. How We'll Take Care of You:

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.
