Senior Manager, Business Development - Global Payments Network
The Senior Manager of Business Development is responsible for accelerating acceptance growth through direct merchant acquisition within target verticals in Mexico. This role focuses on building a robust sales pipeline, directly engaging high-value enterprise merchants, and executing end-to-end commercial agreements. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional partners to navigate deal approvals, ensure seamless integration, and directly impact transaction volume and network revenue goals.
The ideal candidate will:
- Have proven experience in the following industries: Hotels, Restaurants, Retail, Airlines.
- Bring deep payments industry expertise and leverage commercial networks to unlock target accounts.
- Excel at structuring complex, consultative business cases and leading end-to-end deal negotiations.
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment with high autonomy, self-motivation, and strong organizational skills.
What You'll Do:
- Identify leads, develop proposals, respond to RFPs, and negotiate agreements directly with Mexico merchants to maximize network acceptance.
- Strategically identify and create innovative business cases to win new merchant acceptance deals with key internal stakeholder buy-in (Pricing, Legal, Risk, AML, and other internal partners).
- Collaborate with internal teams and gather feedback from customers or prospects to identify, develop, and implement new sales opportunities.
- Develop strong relationships to maintain and grow account relationships with internal and external partners to meet volume and revenue goals.
- Participate in industry exhibitions and conferences .
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree.
- At least 8 years of experience in payments industry sales, business development, relationship management, strategy, operations, project management, or finance.
- Intermediate - Advanced English fluency.
Preferred Qualifications:
- At least 9 years of experience in business development within FinTech, Credit or Debit payment networks, acquirer or processor environments, or commercial payments.
- Experience with technical payment emerging capabilities such as e-commerce gateways, contactless payment chips, digital wallets, or tokenization.
- Track record of independently closing enterprise-level merchant deals in Mexico.
Travel: This position will be travelling up to 50% within Mexico.
