Smithbucklin, a 100-percent employee-owned professional services company serving associations, nonprofits and industry organizations, is seeking an experienced Senior Manager, Content and Campaign Marketing to help turn our expertise into compelling content and effective lead-generation campaigns.
This role combines strong writing skills with hands-on campaign management. You will plan and execute campaigns, create content that speaks to association leaders and board members and help move prospects from initial interest to meaningful conversations with our business development team.
Working closely with the Director of Marketing, you will translate marketing priorities into campaign plans and take ownership of delivery, from developing content and coordinating contributors through launch, measurement and improvement. Your primary focus will be supporting growth for Smithbucklin’s Association Management business.
What You Will Do
- Plan and deliver integrated campaigns. Execute campaign plans across email, website, LinkedIn, webinars and other channels aligned with the director’s marketing priorities.
- Write and edit compelling content. Produce website copy, landing pages, marketing emails, short articles, case studies, LinkedIn posts and advertising copy. Tailor content to the audience, channel and intended action.
- Turn expertise into useful content. Work with company leaders and subject matter experts to uncover insights, develop examples and explain how Smithbucklin helps associations address challenges and achieve their goals.
- Connect content across channels. Maintain a coordinated campaign and content calendar. Adapt research, thought leadership and webinar material into multiple pieces that extend their reach and support lead generation.
- Support webinar and event marketing. Develop promotional campaigns and follow-up communications that attract the right audiences and create opportunities for continued engagement.
- Use technology to improve marketing effectiveness. Apply HubSpot, AI tools and analytics platforms in daily work to develop and refine content, execute campaigns, automate workflows and analyze results. Bring curiosity about new capabilities and sound judgment about their use, maintaining accuracy, quality and confidentiality.
- Execute account-based marketing. Partner with business development to identify target associations, map buying committees and build coordinated multi-touch programs for priority accounts.
What you Bring
- Are equally comfortable setting strategy and rolling up your sleeves to execute.
- 10 or more years of B2B marketing experience, with demonstrated strength in content development and campaign management.
- Excellent writing and editing skills, with experience creating content in professional services or association environments and making complex ideas clear, useful and engaging for executives and boards.
- Demonstrated use of AI tools to support content development, campaign planning, analysis and workflow improvement, with sound judgment about accuracy and quality.
- Strong project management and collaboration skills, with the ability to manage campaigns from planning through completion and work effectively with subject matter experts and senior leaders.
- Demonstrated account-based marketing experience in professional services, associations, consulting or another relationship-driven, long-sales-cycle environment (SaaS-only ABM experience is less relevant).
- A track record of designing and owning nurture and lifecycle programs.
- Reporting and interviewing skills; a journalism or communications background is a plus.
- A degree or equivalent work experience in marketing or a related field.
Qualifications
