The Role

Description & Requirements
Summary:
Under the supervision of the Head of Risk Management, the Senior Manager, Corporate Risk Management manages dedicated aspects of the Kraft Heinz global insurance program structures and policies. Reviews complex insurance documents to ensure proper protection for the company. Manages program changes as needed to align insurance coverage to strategic internal initiatives of the Company. Oversees and manages third party claim administrators in handling all Workers' Compensation and liability claims. Responsible for evaluating and negotiating Risk Management aspects of business contracts.
Responsibilities:

  • Assists in structuring the Company's insurance and self-insurance programs. Responsibilities include identifying and assessing the risks involved in the business operations, evaluating the adequacy and scope of insurance coverage, identifying potential insurers, and negotiating insurance coverage terms & pricing
  • Structures underwriting information from internal and external sources. Prepares insurance applications and directs the activities of insurers and insurance brokers in preparation and evaluation of insurance proposals. Streamline internal data collection processes and structure an internal database of underwriting information
  • Relationship owner of third-party claim administrator. Supervises administrator in handling of Workers' Compensation and Liability claims. Provides authority to adjusters and internal stakeholders to resolve claims
  • Responsible for creation, management, and distribution of team reports. Prepares interdepartmental reports on claims data across sites
  • Create, or assist in creation of presentations for external insurance market presentations for lines of business such as (D&O, Cyber, Property, Liability, Recall, and others)
  • Acts as liaison to safety/operational risk management departments to assist with loss control, claims, and safety improvement efforts
  • Works with legal to resolve claims involving coverage interpretation, jurisdictional issues, and structured settlements
  • Acts as a resource for business units on risk management issues involving contracts as they relate to insurance/risk management
  • Verifies that insurance coverage under issued policies conform to negotiated terms and broker specifications for all insurance contracts. Provides ongoing maintenance of policy amendments, endorsements, and correspondence. Directs services of insurance brokers on policy changes, and communicates with Kraft Heinz personnel on coverage and basic concepts of policies
  • Assist in creation and distribution of annual budget for Global Insurance Program. Liaise with individual budget owners in communication of annual budget and internal explanation of variances to budget
  • Manages process for issuing all insurance certificates annually; handles requests for property and liability certificates of insurance, determines appropriate response and communicates with broker/vendors on the issuance of special certificates
  • Maintains insurance policy portfolio and risk management policies for distribution to KHC business units


Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree required, advanced degree preferred
  • 7+ years of prior risk management, insurance company, or brokerage experience
  • Workers' Compensation underwriting or claim management experience is preferred
  • Knowledge of Risk Management Information Systems is preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize reporting functions and tools in Microsoft Excel (including Pivot Tables, LookUps, Macros, etc.)

Office Collaboration & Hybrid Work Environment
